what is the mileage?
change the fluid if it hasn't been changed.
Well that's interesting!! I really hope it's just he fluid. My car is at 66,500 Km.
I do put a trickle charger on the once/week though so I wouldn't think it would be the alternator?

The alternator has nothing to do with the trickle charger. Are you running standard size tyres?

Well, I'm just going by what you said in your initial comment that your issue went away after your voltage stabilized. If that ends up being my problem as well, I just want to know how you got yours to stabilize.

This is exactly what I did and the problem is gone. There's friction modifier in the fluid of these transfer cases. They wanted to sell me a $7,000 transfer case and I got out of there for 550 bucks which is still outrageous to change the fluid.

Luckily mine was covered under extended warranty. Paid for the whole thing itself lol. They tried to put in a used one too. I refused and told them I'll just wait as I pull the fuse to stop the jerking. Took a month to come in from Germany. Agree these should not be lifetime fluid. But bmw is suffering not my check book.
