Mirror Tap radar detector installation - 2015 BMW X5

Could someone advise me on what color wires in the rear view mirror wiring harness in the 2015 X5 are the power and ground wires? Am planning to install an Escort Max2 radar detector with Blendmount and Mirror Tap.

See if this post is helpful although it involves a V1:

I just installed a V1 -- I pulled apart the mirror, but in the end, I just ran the wire to the fuse box. There's a ground screw down there and it eliminated the need to tap wires.

Which Blendmount model did you buy? I am about to do the same as you.

Send BM a photo of the stem to your rear-view mirror and they will sort this out for you.

Hi, do you guys have Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go option in your car? And if so, does it interfere with your radar detectors?

I'm waiting for my X6 and currently I use the Passport Max 2, and I've been worried about that. Thanks.

The top three windshield rd - RL, V1, Max2 - all have filters for our BMS. In my case, I had to upgrade my V1 to the latest TMF2 filter to avoid the BMS of my 2015 X5 but the filters in place for both the Max and RL have worked well for me.

Of course this filtering can come at a heavy price if I/O is king in your area.

You should look at RDF and ERF for insights from those who follow such things in tortured detail.

Have had no interference with my V1. It is the latest software model. I upgraded my older V1 before I received my F15 with ACC, can't speak to whether there is a problem with older versions.
