Instrument Cluster issue.

The digital part of my cluster "bottom section" would not display any info the other day.

I had no mileage info, none of the extra data would show. The display was only showing the lines, it was on but not showing any data.

I shutdown many times and not until after I shutdown and left it to go into it's deep sleep, then the display started working correctly.

Happened to me once also. But after restart, it never happened again since.
Hopefully it didn't happen again to you.
Mentioned it to my SA, they said that they can't replicate it and no error code logged, as always.

I just had this happen to me. I tried restarting the car twice, and the issue remains. All of the options are checked under the "Instrument Cluster" page of iDrive.

Ideas welcome!

Just like the OP, try to let the car go into complete sleep mode and restart to see if it resets?
In the E70 if you pressed the volume button for 15 seconds or more it would reset your iDrive... I wonder if it would do the same on the F15 with the instrument cluster being partially digital along with the idrive?

"Reboot your computer" is indeed the best bet, but I don't think any of the traditional hard-reset methods have worked to date.

This has happened to me a few times as well. After a key cycle or two, it corrected itself on each occasion. I had the dealer check it out, and there were some error codes that had been stored...they updated the flash and I've been asked to monitor it moving forward. More of an annoyance than anything. "Oh hey, where's my display?"

Dont want to thread jack but i noticed something else with my dash cluster. If I change the menu to show the compass is it suppose to remember it the next time I drive the car? Mine does not and it seems to always default back to showing how many miles left till the next fill up.

Nope. Have never gotten it to stick on the Compass. Default behavior unfortunately.

Compass. Some say it takes 1km miles before it will store and redisplay.
For me I noticed it at the 4k km mark. Weird, but needs to be driven

I've had issues with my HUD going back to default when the ignition is shut off, take it to the dealer for a firmware update. As I understand it, there were a lot of issues that were corrected.
