Front Licence Plate
Hey guys,
so I got my car (review in process) and I didn't mount the front licence plate, yet. I am in NYC and so I know I will get ticket(s) at some point....so looking for a solution to mount it on my M-sport. Do not want to drill holes in bumper and such. Looking at Tow hook, motorized etc... Any suggestions? |

I've always used tow hook mounts, typically from Rho-plate. Unfortunately they don't appear to have a fitment yet for the F15 X5. I'm sure they will soon.
Are there any other manufacturers that do?

I was just thinking of the same thing and came across theses... DIY or buy online. The second option is nice if you want a white frame matching the exterior color.

Thanks!
I am not sure I want the DIY version....I know I won't do it. Trying to find anything for the F15 and coming up empty here... millworks sounds good, but again, nothing for the F15. |

I understand not wanting to drill the holes, but unless you're going to move to a state with no front plate, what's the point of putting it elsewhere? IMO the tow hook solution ends up looking worse anyway. The hidden one I guess I get, looks better when parked. Assuming you don't get a ticket when parked that is...

Looks like that's only for vehicles without ACC, as the plate would be sitting on the sensor.

The car looks better (to me) with no front plate, so that is the main reason. If $200 can give me an option of being able to "put up" the front plate any time I want - then I am in. I park in garage at night and in driveway at work, so the only times I have to worry about is when I drive and when I park on meters on occasion. |

What a great thing. I would love to see the police officer's face when he pulls you over for no front plate and you say "yes, I do have a front plate" and he looks again.

Where can i get this done in CA? What is this function called? I would love to have that as an option as well. Would be hilarious to tell the cop that I do have a front license plate if ever pulled over for that.

Not sure how he did but on the day I went to pick up my car the sales guy at the dealer just got my two license plates and a screwdriver and in less than 1 minute he had both front and back license plates installed. Thus, I am not sure if the car was ready for the front license plate or not but I thought it was standard in the US. BTW, mine is a M Sport.
