M Sport steering wheel

I just got a loaner of 2014 X3 xDrive 35i M Sport while servicing my F10.
It is a nice car, but there are 2 major things that I notice.

1. The M Sport steering wheel is much thicker than F15 M Sport steering wheel.
2. Even though it is also N55 motor, I didn't feel much power coming out if it.

The reason I post it here is for the steering wheel. Do any of you know if the M Performance steering wheel is about the same thickness?
I can't believe BMW making the F15 M Sport steering wheel so skinny.

It's the "old" style M wheel. But yes, the M Performance wheel is about the same thickness.

It's odd to me that the old wheel is in the refreshed X3 and the new X4. There's a lot of inconsistency between BMW's products.

Same thickness as the "old" style or the one on the M Sport F15/F30/F32 and the others?

Do you really feel the F15 M Sport steering wheel is skinny? It feels very thick to me.

Well, I didn't think it was until I got this X3 M Sport for a loaner.
It feels more like the Brabus steering wheel on the old W140 S Class or W124 E Class.

Feels 'thick' and solid to me too. Couldn't imagine it being any beefier. Now I want to see the X3 wheel. Haha.

Hmmm...I'm in the process of swapping out the base wheel in my F15. Ended up picking up a 2er MSport wheel. Hope all the pieces fit together :-)

It should fit, I'm just not sure about the diameter. Seems like the X3 has smaller outer diameter, not the thickness.
The nice thing about it, the thick part of the grip is right on the 3 and 9 o'clock position. It is kind of oval, while the rest are just plain round and a bit thicker than the new M Sport steering wheel.
