611M Wheels, X5M Steering Wheel, X5M Mirrors, CF Trim and MPBK in F15
Folks,
I had been not posting in a while, but hopefully with this post I can get your forgiveness. I finished several months ago with the upgrades in my wife's X5 F15 35D, which was a Base model + Leather Package, Surround View, Premium Package, and HK. The car has one year, and 10K miles. The reason why I purchased the base, rather than the Sport of Xline was the fact I didn’t know much before about the X5 options…mistake was done, so then was the time for upgrades Upgrades done: *611M Wheels: Just a simple plug-play. You don’t need spacers or any kind of special adjustments…just buy the set of DWS06 + the spare tire (I don’t like the run-flats). Lot of weight saving with the new wheel set. And don’t forget to buy the fender flares (go OEM). First I installed the wheels, and a couple month after the MPBKs *MPBKs: The M Performance Breaks are a really good looking acquisition, but are very heavy compared with modern Brembos or Stop –Tech…but the BMW ones are way much $$$ cheaper. Don’t forget to update the code, because the car has to be configure for the new break system (more powerful). *Rear Bumper with squared exhaust pipes: It’s a plug and play solution but be aware there are two alternatives: For diesel and non-diesel. *X5M Steering Wheel: Really nice upgrade. Getting the wheel is not difficult, but the airbag: Yes. What about the paddle shift activation: Contact Ram at BMW-MINI Coding; he will do it for you + map upgrades and any kind of things you would like to do in the car system controlled things (auto-folding mirrors, turn-off radio when can is off, M Logo in display, open rear trunk with car key, etc.) *Carbon Fiber Interior Trim and Center Console: Really nice upgrade…the interior look much nicer, and the CF coating is IMHO more resistant than the aluminum trims. *X5M Mirrors: Car was equipped with the Chrome exterior trim…so when I was looking for the shadowline package a seller was also selling also his X5M mirrors. The whole package was quoted for less than the shadownline molding set from ECSt…so why not? What's next: Maybe a good suspension package, just to get a "firmer" experience, but not really lowering the car. Sorry if the pictures are not the best, and car was not clean…but it’s better than nothing. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR MODS !!! Cheers, T. Last edited by mememagno; 05-05-2016 at 07:08 PM.. |

Very nice.. but I would complete the look with a sport shifter because the standard one looks awkward. I would also color match the bumper, the wheel arch flares, and get rid of the running boards. Plasti-dip or black out the red reflector by the exhaust... Maybe go as far as add a different exhaust tip. Oh and debadge...

I actually quite like the unpainted wheel arch flares.
Seriously considering the MPBK myself. |
