FYI in case you have the color Sparkling Brown Metallic here is a picture of the car with some black details including the grille.
Just need to get rid of the window molding that is chrome change to shadow line black and keep all the other satin aluminum details.

If it were me... On a brown vehicle I would do body color outer portion of the grill and matte black center.

I am going to do shadow line black. The area already has some shadow line black on the middle between windows and also the mirror base.

I'm planning to plasti-dip them entirely (on my no-line X5)

I was just testing how that part can still be part of the design but not so heavily. I wrapped the section going into the air duct.

It worked out really nice! It also looks like some glossy/shadow line finish... not matt black? What kind of wrap did you apply?

Since I was just testing to see how it looked I used 3m Wrap in Gloss black that I already had.
Eventually I will paint just that same part of the accent in matte black. Easy part to get in and out less than 1 minute work.

I put my hand thru the back of the piece there is a hole(my hand just fits) just under the car in front of the wheel.
The piece has 4 tabs holding it to the front part of the bumper. 3 on the top and one on the bottom most forward part the pointed end.
From the back you can feel the tabs and to take out push UP on them one by one until each snap out. the hardest will be the one on the very end of the point.
Once those are out just pull out and that is it.
Basically i blacked out the two areas that are flat and kept the shape of the arrow clean to make it look like it is floating. Install back first from the end that goes into the air duct and then to make sure the tabs snapped in. I went to the small hole and felt the tabs and while pushing from the front of the bumper at the same time I push down on each tab until it snapped into place. Not much force used.
Here is a picture of the part so you know where to feel for the tabs.

It looks good. Ive always wondered how the black grills would look on a luxury line. Does anyone have a picture of this?

Yes the changes make a big difference. My next step is either buying brand new shadowline window molding or wrap it gloss black.
You also wrapped the roof rack rails? Correct?

Lucky you on that one. My X5 has the Satin Aluminium color which is a lot better than chrome for sure.
I will do a test by wrapping my window moulding gloss black and then if I like it I will go with a kit they sell to change the entire thing with original shadow line black.... It is a bit expensive but will last a lot longer than the wrap for sure.

My changes are not radical but all together have made a difference so far. I really did not like the chrome parts at all but that was the car option they had and the price was to good to let go.

1. Sanded the chrome fins on the lower grille on the lower front.
2. Change the chrome accent to matte aluminium on the two side vents of the front bumper
3. M performance Gloss black grilles.
4. change to matte aluminium the lower part of the front bumper from the original body color piece.
5. Change the lower piece of the back bumper to Matte Aluminium.
6. the upper chrome moulding in the middle of the back bumper to matte aluminium.
7. Change the mirror cover to X5M mirrors.
8. Inside I change the wood moulding on the center console sides to the X5M Black napa detail to match the dash and doors napa accents.

Thing to do:
1. Wrap windows moulding from Chrome to gloss black
2. Wrap the wood accents on the inside to a possible brushed aluminium. Dash and 4 doors.
etc, etc.....
