Upgrade Spark Plugs after MPPK Install

Hey guys, the dealer is working on installing the MPPK on my xdrive 35i. Probably won't have my car back until tomorrow... The service advisor told me I should think about changing out the spark plugs and getting better ones.

Has anyone done this after getting the MPPK installed? If so, what plugs do you recommend?

Stock is fine unless you have a lot of miles on them.

Most of us installed MPPK at lower mileage, so changing out the spark plugs was not an issue. It maybe with yours... Not sure which spark plugs. I would just get oem.

Not sure why you need new spark plugs. Either they spark or they don't.

Plugs are a maintenance item like an air filter. Miles will wear the gap, build up deposits, etc over time. Now you add more cylinder pressure and you could start getting some misfires. Cheap insurance.

I'm not sure if we're talking about new sparkplugs (OEM) to replace worn plugs or if we're talking about the merits of "upgraded" sparkplugs. New ones after 70000 miles is probably not a bad idea, but "upgrading" to something other than OEM like it would somehow perform better is pointless.

In other N55 (and for all N54) MPPK installs, BMW included slightly hotter plugs. Probably not bad to think about given your mileage.

Curious as to your feelings about the tune when you get her back.

I got her back yesterday afternoon. There definitely is a noticeable difference in throttle response while driving in comfort mode, but even more responsive and awesome when in Sport! Makes it even more fun to drive now.

It has only been one day so I haven't been able to really hear a noticeable exhaust sound difference. From what I've read it apparently takes a while for the tune to settle into the car and the exhaust starts to get deeper with the low burble sound when letting off the acceleration.
