I just cannot

I just cannot seem to get the head rest for the middle seat in the second row to move up!!!!! Is it meant to be permanently locked in place??? Has anyone faced the same issue?

I think so, as I also tried to remove it. I asked on here about 18 months ago and i think there was a post about the middle headrest and that it cannot be moved/removed - some safety issue.

Yes, it can be removed, I know because I've done so many times while removing and reinstalling a child seat (I like to the headrest all the way down for visibility, but need to raise it to remove or insert the rear restraining strap underneath).

Every time I've gone to raise it, however, has been a struggle. I press the release button on the left post base and pull up, but it feels as if it's locked. Wrestle with it long enough and it will come flying out of the seat back and bounce off the headliner. Goes back in easily, though.

IT CAN BE REMOVED AND ITS ADJUSTABLE!

For some reason it gos very very hard. There is a small leaver to press from behind the seatbeack where the headrest goes somewhere! I removed it right on delivery and the shop as it blocks the rear mirror view.....

its seriously a very hard force and struggle job

Thanks for shining a light of hope. They would not put a release button on the bottom just for looks. I currently have the retraining strap running beside the headrest beam which I looks like it was not properly installed. I shall try it when I get home. Thanks so much guys!!!
