Photo Shoot - X5M with BC Forged RS41 Winter Setup
Hey guys,
I just shot some quick photos today of my winter setup. Please forgive me for the poor quality, the lighting wasn't perfect and I was too impatient to wait for another day. FS: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1229399 Vendors and Products featured: PYSpeed.com - BC Forged RS41 Black Chrome - 20x10" front and 20x11" rear Discount Tire Direct: Contis DWS06 - 275/40/20 front and 315/35/20 rear (same size as E70/F15 with staggered 20s) GetBMWParts: Genuine BMW RDCi Module and Valve Set (set of 4) Review: The offset were chosen by the experts at BC Forged and they nailed it. It's about 10mm out from stock, so it is very flush yet conservative which is the way I want it. With this offset, the rear OEM negative cambers look more aggressive compared to stock wheels setup. I don't have a scale at home, but these should weigh around 21-23lbs. The entire setup is noticeably lighter than the stock 21s. The black chrome finish is a perfect compliment for the DG color. The machining and detail are top notch. I didn't add any filter on my camera to ensure there's no distortion in the color. These photos are very close representation what they look like in real life. I chose to use OEM RDCi (TPMS) and wrap the wheels with Contis DWS06. I've trusted Contis on my E70 X5s and other RWD BMWs I've owned in the past. DWS06 paired with the X5 AWD platform is more than enough to conquer deep snow and icy condition (I took my old X5 with DWS up to Copper/Vail for snowboarding a few times). The DWS06 are extremely quiet and should last more than 40k miles based on personal experience. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this setup. I can't believe these forged wheels only took 4 weeks to build and 1 week to ship. Hit up Eric at PYSPEED for pricing on similar setup, awesome customer service. Enjoy. More photos will be posted on my IG: JNOSOL Thanks for viewing, Jimmy

Thank you so much, guys. Believe it or not, Kansas has lots of rolling hills. It's not as flat as people think, so winter can be a bit challenging without proper tires.
Proof: See photo below, my neighborhood is pretty hilly and I live on top of the hill (steep downhill to the right of the photo). My previous E70 with DWS climbed up the hill to my house with 6" of snow w/o any hesitation. My neighbor's RWD Jag and OEM all season gets stuck almost every winter. He still hasn't learned after abandoning his car a few times now.

Good to know! I am at the top of quite a steep hill myself (more than one truck has slid down it and into the neighbors house -- yikes!) and am hoping xdrive+snow tires will help us get up the hill when the occasional snow hits.

I don't want xDrive in a purist car like an M3/M4/M2, but it does a great job for the X5 and my 6 series. I would consider xDrive in an M5 if it's optional, then it will hang with GTRs on any dragstrip or circuit. If the next M5 has xDrive with 600HP+, it would be a monster with the same carbon weight reduction as the new 7.

Looking good! For some reason those DWS06 just looks so wide/meaty compared to the stock tires. Several of the F15 guys slapped on the same tires and they look wider than my 22" 335 Pirelli's

Alan: This setup is meaty because it bulges out on the side walls. I do love the look of 22s for the summer. If I keep this car longer than 1yr, I'll consider Brushed Black - BC Forged HB09 22x10.5" front and 22x12" rear with your tire setup (I believe 295/30/22 and 335/25/22).

Correct, just time for spring weather. IMHO, HB Series - 2 piece looks better when it's larger.

Looks amazing! What an aggressive stance it has even with the smaller diameter wheels! No compromise whatsoever! Nicely done.
