First leg of our Asia 17 trip. Been here a few days now. Checked out the major temples, National Museum, saw the Phare Circus, explored the local market and countryside. Beautiful country and beautiful people. Locals are very poor but are content and happy with what little they have. The heat and humidity are unreal. We sweated our asses off the first 36 hours.
Here are some pix I'd like to share. They are not in particular order. |

More Preah Khan. The carving tells a story of an old man who came from the forest in search of food. He came across a tiger/evil spirit and was helped by a friendly hermit.

Phare Circus - performed by local youths. Really entertaining. We sat right in the front row and got a metal Phare Circus water bottle as souvenirs.
Also tried stir fried red tree ants and crocodile burger. Croc meat was a bit funky but the red ants were good. |
