Awful front!

We've come from one of the best looking ever BMW fronts, the current 6 series to this.....

Bad! Upside down kidneys look sad! Put them back wider on the upper side that on the lower.

And for this they want to ask even more money than for a 7 series whose front design is stunning?

I recall back in 2010 when they revealed the concept 6-series, a lot of people hated it.

The final product of the 8-series will be an amazing piece of art.

Found on a French news outlet:

Length 4m84 (vs 4m89 current 6 Series)
Height 1m32 (vs 1m37 current 6 Series)

It's actually shorter than the outgoing model!

The year is 2042.. the kidney grills have grown even larger and taken over society. No one is safe..

All I really see is an overly garish Infiniti Q60. The headlights look like Leonardo Decaprio is squinting at me.

The comments on the youtube video are very positive. I notice much more hate here on the BMW forum, which is kinda interesting.

That is fantastic news!!! I thought it was sure to be 5m plus from that front overhang.

People here hate anything that's not an E46 M3 or E39 M5 so that's hardly surprising.

don't care for the front...especially the grill. I'm glad this is just a concept. Hope the official 8 is a bit more toned down than this.

Really don't get the idea of huge coupes like this one and like the s-class coupe. If I am going to get a 2 door car than it should be relatively smaller and lighter for some sporty driving. If they are making this to a 4 door GC than that would be amazing. The GC makes the rear quarter much more balanced in these large coupes. otherwise the rear quarter panel is too long.

Butt kinda looks Lc500'ish I know different but certain design elements seem to cross over! Not a fan of the over sized front grill - bizarre looking and hoping that is not final.

Quite the opposite in other markets.

The 8er utilises BMW's Carbon Core Concept . By using CFRP within the main load bearing points in the body structure. This will be significant for the 8er because of the shorter platform.

The chrome piece joining the two kidney grilles? Perhaps if you damage one you have to replace both. That would bring some extra dosh to the BMW bottom line. (The grilles are ugly, too. They should be flat, not angular.)

The interior of the 8 looks a lot like the very spartan interior of my i8. Not luxurious at all. And completely left in the dust by the Merc S class coupe. So if BMW is competing with the S class, this is going to be a flop.
