Racechip Ultimate On X5d
I have a 2011 335d currently. Thinking of getting a 2016 X5d next summer. Where we live the diesel is .24 cents cheaper than premium gasoline right now. It usually stays lower than premium by a 10-30 cent margin. I would consider the X5 50 but like the mileage of the diesel when we take trips to the coasts. I would like to buy an X5M50d if we could here in the U.S. for the 381hp and 546 ft lb of torque. But wanted to see if anyone is using the Racechip Ultimate on an F15 chassis X5d. Their advertising gets it closer to those numbers. If so did you dyno test the vehicle before and after install to see what actual results are? Thanks.

They are in order of usefulness (top to bottom) IMO. Should cover everything you need! |

I have found 03 to be the best overall. Have been running it for 10 months without issue.

^^^ Thanks. Good to hear. What's your 0 - 60 time like ?
Do you use sport mode or comfort ? One thing I found lacking in comfort mode is the more laid back acceleration from 0 - 30. Once I reach 2k RPM it gets up and goes faster. I can imagine with RC, it probably solves that problem and you probably have less need to go into sport mode ? |

Always start with what the factory recommends, then experiment from there. Otherwise, you have no baseline from which to compare, and the reseller/distributor will ask you to reset to factory in the even you have a CEL and you'll have to start all over again. I have had lots of CEL but I experimented and I also have the tools to clear the codes. The two most prevalent codes are too rich condition (emissions - I forget the code) and fuel pressure too high (fueling - code P026D). I do not recommend increasing S1 setting unless you lease the car. S2 is the amount of fuel injected and each click is 1 1/2% change. Dyno'ing is a waste of time/money on this. You'll feel the difference immediately and that's what counts - especially for the cost of the unit. Besides, throttle response is much more important for the majority of us using these as daily drivers. Have fun.

Thanks , that's what I plan to do , run on the default setting to start.
I do have a tool to clear CEL too, but I'm wondering, even after I clear the code, is it still stored in the car ? Can the dealer still see it later if they were looking ? |
