2013 X6 F16 TPMS issue
Hi there,
I have the TPMS issue, reset always stock at 0%, 49% or 99%. Occasionally activated then pop the error message again. I checked the sensors in the tire with an autel instrument, all 4 sensors are fine (very fast reading from all the 4 sensors). What can be the issue? The error codes: 4806B8 RDCi left front wheel electronics no reception 48069E RDCi wheel detection calibration not possible D02C7F Signal (tyre status 272.3.8) invalid, transmitter DSC Can anyone please give some advice? Thanks in advance. HB |

Are you on the original sensors that came with the vehicle? If yes, then your sensors are 10-11 years old and they have a life expectancy of approx 10 years.
Two of your error codes specifically indicate no reception and calibration from a wheel sensor…and the 3rd refers to Tyre status. An unofficial assumption would make me think that something is up with a wheel sensor.

Thank you so much! Really appreciate your advice.
1. I made a mistake. I had a typo. My car is a 2015 X6. The sensors are about 8 years. The autel instrument checked the sensors are ok. I am wondering if I need to change all the 4 sensors. 2. Where is the RDC module located? Again thank you very much! |

FWIW, I'm having a similar issue on my summer wheels. After a reset, the car will recognize all 4 sensors for a while but shortly after, i always get a code for 2 of them. (I forget what the code was). Like Qsilver7 said, i assume they are just old (8 years) and the batteries are going bad. I plan on replacing all 4 of them this summer season which should do the trick.

I had the same issue on my 2015 F85 and ended up getting new sensors installed, and programmed them to the same sensor IDs as the old ones. I used an Autel reader to get the old sensor IDs from the OBD2 port but its marked on the sensors themselves if they are not too dirty.
The reset tpms function never worked for me on the new sensors, only programming them to the old IDs worked. |

Sorry to ask your advice One more time: I am ready to replace all the sensors. I checked them one more time with Autel. They are ok. Is it possible that the sensors are not activated during driving. The Autel machine activated by sending a signal, but I assume the sensors are activated by the wheel reaching certain speed.
Thanks again. I |

But the big piece of the puzzle that you didn’t mention is…did you go into iDrive to initialize the TPM system? You have to initialize the system when new sensors are installed or you change any wheel or add/remove air from any tire. This starts a new baseline (for either the FTM or TPM system. If you need help with the reset procedure…if you pull up the iDrive screen where you can reset the system, you can press the OPTION button which should give you a direct link to the embedded owners manual’s instructions.

Definitely check the battery too. A few weeks after I got My car it kept throwing TPMS errors all the time, every time I would reset it and it would be fine for a while, and then it would throw the error again.
Eventually i realized the battery was going bad, because sometimes my Idrive HU would start up late. Changed the battery, and the TPMS error went away for good. |

FWIW, I replaced the sensors a few months ago. No significant issues.
In the first month of installing the new sensors, they would disconnect. It happened about 2 or 3 times after a few hours of highway driving. But would reconnect eventually on their own while driving. Havent gone on a long trip in a while but no issues outside of that. |

Sorry I did not check messages for a while. I drove the car with the TPMS light on. A week ago I replaced two sensors, still no luck. I just saw a reply that the low battery may be the culprit. I will replace the battery and see if the light will be gone. I promise that i will post the result here soon. Merry Christmas and happy new year to everyone!

Follow up report: I have the battery replaced. So far no luck. I have the two front tires’ sensors replaced with new ones. now when I reset, I always got to 50% and the error light came out.
