I love the aluminum trim! I've ordered that as well and these pics confirm my decision.

I was going for indiv piano lack but then opted for alu last min. Was a bit afraid how it would look bcs no car had it at the dealers eventhough it is no cost choice wth m package.

I really like that aluminum trim. Wondering if I should change my order. I have picked poplar wood and I think I have another day or so to make changes.

If you like wood trim, poplar wood is really nice, has nice texture and looks great also. It is taste dependant.

Some recent exterior photos - still love this car - interior earlier in the thread

My config
-30d with M package and air suspension (19" with wider wheels/tires in the rear, ideal for me as I love the comfort ride plus had extra winter same size in stock that were a perfect fit)
-Mocha Dakota (still by far best dakota color for my taste, had to sacrifice MC seats for this one)
-Aluminium Brushed (holding up well so far)
-Storage Package (recently discovered sunglasses holder, really useful for "smaller" sun glasses)
-Lights package
-LED with high beam assistance (for highway not really useful, but for non-highway roads they are an amazing experience in the night as they constantly adjust to the traffic conditions, had full high beam directed at police measuring speed in the far left lane, they had to cover their eyes).
-Sport Seats with Lumbar support (comfort seats are better, these are OK, mocha dakota color was too good to pass, still doubtfull decision depending as my mood changes)
-B&O (great sound system, nice to listen and to look at, costly though and no complementary headphones for Europe)
-Ceramic Controls (love this option).
-Surround View (tight garage spot, a must for me)
-HUD (took it mainly to get extended dials, but is a nice to have option)
-Active Steering (great only with M sport, test drove non-msport with professional suspension package (or whatever it's called) and AS was pretty bad and loose at higher speeds even in sport mode.

Appologies for the rather poor quality of the photos (especially to more common professional photos on this forum, referring to ATOMIC of course ) and car not being squeeky clean as my son made me go through a small stream prior to taking these photos.

Looks very nice, 1230vani . I actually just saw your interior pics again and have to agree that the brushed aluminum finish is really nice; I actually like it way better than the hex finish.

Thanks . I was going for hex but my wife insissted she does not like it at all (for some reason the only thing she complained about was the leather dashboard and hex trim - as usual I had no idea why really ). Then I moved to piano lack, but because piano was 12/2013 production onwards I moved to brushed aluminium (having not seen it on the F15 in real life). In the end car was produced in 12/2013 (of course ). Leather dashboard became a non-option with dakota mocha, so it was ruled out.
In the end I think the car is quite unique in interior dakota mocha/brushed spec as most (rightfully so) do not want to exclude comfort seats and opt for another color (if they do not go with nappa). I've seen only one forum member with this spec (Baboum68 - I loved it when he posted photos, I knew I made the right choice ).
If I go back I remember that I was on the configurator non-stop and doing all the research (mostly on this forum ) and the test drives, etc. Beats me why I am still on this forum , but I come back to it quite often .

My FX has brushed aluminum and it looks really premium, so trust me, you made a good choice .

I actually think your Mocha Dakota looks better than the Mocha Nappa because it looks a shade darker. My eyes could be playing tricks on me, but that's what it seems like from your interior pics above.

Research is such an important step before buying. The forums can become a bit addictive at times, lol. I enjoy learning/reading the feedback from everyone here. I think it helps us better understand our cars and become friends with good people.

Hi vani,

I also did the mods with the front grill (from plastic black to titanium) as well as the 2 trim strips in the bumper (like the M50d). In the attached picture, you can see differences before vs after

I installed the grill myself but had the dealer to install the stripes as it needs the front bumper to be removed.
