Garage Door Opener

So the ignition has to be on to make the opener work...REALLY? I can't be the only one who wants to open the door before starting the engine...or am I missing something?

Umm...yes.. The ignition has to be ON but that doesn't mean you have to start your engine. There's a difference right?

It's actually a great security measure. The reasoning behind this is simple, you don't want someone to break into your car on your driveway and thus have access to opening your garage and most likely gaining access to your home as well.

+1. For security reason. No key, thieves can't steal the garage opener's codes.

I don't even set it up for security reasons, only had my main gate coded.

Do you still use a regular garage door opener? How does that keep you secure? Or a wired keypad only?
