Porsche Trim Badge Delete

I notice a trend here in Toronto with Porsches, we have a lot of them on the street especially Cayenne, 911 and Panamara.

I do notice a lot of them especially Caynnes only say Porsche at the back, I think they have a factory trim line delete. But I noticed that the ones that have them deleted are usually the lower end ones.

I don't think I've seen any GTSs or Turbo trims with their badges removed. Personally, I would not have the trim line removed because it would seem like I'm trying to pretend that I'm driving a higher trim model and I know someone who knows cars will be able to tell. Maybe I'm thinking too much.

What's the mentality behind this? Make the car look more cleaner?

Does BMW have this option?

Buy the top of the line and you take the lettering off. What about that.... You will be driving the hell machine and people will think you are diving the toyota edition of the 911.. hahahahaha

Porsche offers a badge delete option on the build but you can always request the dealer to remove it.

I've done it on nearly all my cars. IMO, the X5 has way too much badging on it. They came off very easily the week I took delivery.

BMW has become way too liberal with the "///M" badges.

I did not think that was true for US-spec cars. For ROW, BMW does offer badge delete for no cost.

I removed ours too. I know what I bought, I don't need a badge. And it's easier to clean.

Being that today's Porsches have a complete sentence on the back of each model it's nice that they at least offer you the ability to order the car without the sentence.

the excessive badging is in-line with the excessive amount of buttons found all over the interior... you would think of the engineers would turn around and say "ah, dietre, i think 183 thousand buttons is enough for the driver's side... how about we work on the RMS leaks?"

De Badge is the way to go. My F85 X5M will be here in a few weeks and everything but the Roundel is going.

i remove the badging from the X5M as well. again it's not for me. it is not a model or trim level issue... it's an aesthetic issue for me. i hate that on the x5m calipers there are M badges but on one side it's a w the other an m. it annoys me so much. perhaps down the road i will powder coat them body color.

My US dealer charged only $25 to take the X5 off the rear at delivery. I leave the side badging on, however.
