Exclamation Black Exhaust Tips...

I am tired of cleaning the tips. It's become a fool's errand at this point. Contemplating having the tips painted black by a shop or just do it myself.

For those of you who have black exhaust tips. Could you post photos?

Pure Experience Round Tip

Experimented over the weekend using a matte black vht spray can. I used 4 light coats. Much easier since you can just pull out the exhaust tip cover versus removing the entire rear valance or rear bumper for m sport version.

Powdercoated tips

I had my tips powdercoated a few months ago when I installed the MPE. No regrets.

The owner AJ is a car enthusiast and a great guy to work with. Whole process only took and few days and the parts were flawless.

You can DIY without the exhaust tips removed.

the shop i use for paint said they are concerned about orange peel and not having a smooth finish if the exhaust is not removed and paint applied properly. any issues with flaking, wrinkles or orange peel?

Nope.
Just use the VHT high heat paint. It is very easy to paint.
The only issue would be uneven thickness when you are painting it without removing the bumper.

I did mine in gloss black, and kept the inners matte black. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Probably with painters tape.. at least that's what I would use with newspaper stuffed into the hole.

I pulled the rear bumper off, and masked off the inside of the tip and then vice versa. Did it over a weekend.
