X35d racechip - instant check engine light?
Installed the racechip and instantly got the drivetrain malfunction warning and check engine light on the dash. How can i clear it? Will it go off on its own?

My recommendation, remove everything. Clear your codes and start over. This particular chip has the MOST discussion among the members because it's the most popular RaceChip tune. 42pilot might be able to help you out because he seems very knowledgeable regarding all the MAPS (there's 89 apparently). Maybe your map settings are too much for the engine, but to get a drive train error...I feel it's definitely harness related.

I figured it out. I forgot i had a scan tool! Said common rail error. I found i had not fully connected one of the connectors. Cleared the code and that was it. So now its working fine! Nothing noticeable yet but only 2 miles driving with the chip installed. I expect to drive a few tines before it learns.

Turned it up to the "E2" setting and its a beast! Pulls very hard down low and respectably at speed. I would say it feels as strong as my '13 X50i 0-30 at least but after that its pretty flat but feels stronger than before for sure. I am really liking the diesel. Very fun. Tons of squirt off the bottom then just super smooth.

Experiment with the settings. Remember, turning it up is not linear as RaceChip alters fuel and fuel timing at different points in the RPM range. You'll find one setting will break the wheels loose from a dead stop, but runs out of power higher in the RPM. Others, as I have it now, will give good throttle response from idle, but then pulls hard to the shift point. I tried one that was nearly perfect, but 400 rpm short of the shift point was like losing the engine before it shifted. And there's no learning with the chip - it either works at operating temp or it doesn't. However, I have experienced some of the tunes light up the CEL when you bust a temp parameter (mainly intake temp) which could take 50 - 100 miles.

The flat top is from the mapping going to stock near the shift points.
