That's the problem with the forum, buddy. Either use http://postimage.org/ or photobucket.com

Thanks pal. Btw nice job on the instrument cluster. You really did a nice job. Btw that company Nexon Motors that does Carbon Fiber Steering Wheels and conversions has some really awesome products. They are located in north jersey, my buddy got a steering wheel for his Audi R8 V10 and it looks amazing. According to the owner they are working on a steering wheel for our X5 F15 now.

You're very welcome. Thank you as well.

Actually, Nexon was one of the many companies (about 10-12) that I contacted for the steering wheel. I spent a whole month or so looking and researching through countless phone calls and emails. The problem is, many companies can do Carbon Fiber work but they want to work on the original steering wheel because no one has done any such mods or seen any such mods yet for our F15 since it is still brand new. AutoCarbon through Bimmian was also another company I called and got this answer. I can't be without a steering wheel so this option was out of the question.

Nexon has good quality stuff for sure, but they were a bit too expensive for just a carbon fiber Sport Steering wheel (like my current steering wheel). Izzy, the owner, was the one I talked to. I think after he spoke with me, he might have gotten the idea that they should work on an F15 wheel, but who knows. I spoke to him a little over a month ago saying no one has created one yet and I'm one of the first to inquire about it (expected due to how new the vehicle still is). He was charging $1949 for the wheel + $450 for the carbon fiber tiny piece that you see as the aluminum piece on the Sport Steering wheel + $499 core deposit (this would be returned once I got my factory Sport Steering Wheel taken off and sent to them). $3000 for a sport steering wheel up front. I just couldn't bite. Instead, I got the M-Sport Steering Wheel brand new with Carbon Fiber as depicted in my thread for about $2000 including shipping. Better wheel and better deal. Their work is also very good. The guy also sent me pics of the official M-Sport F15 wheel that he would be using including the leather type. I'm just happy I was able to find a quality item even though originally I didn't want to go over $1500 for the steering wheel - this is standard price or less for ALL other steering wheels similar to the F15's wheel. Of course, I will update everyone when the full installation is complete with a full review of how it feels and looks, etc.

I'm sure your friend's R8 steering looks solid because I have seen all their work from their FB page. BTW, R8 V10 is a fantastic vehicle . I love how it still looks very futuristic.

Hi. Maybe it's the shadow but your tyres look like they are flat.
What's the distance between the rim and road and what's the ride like on that set up?

Paint Protection, glossier shine, you have to wash your car with much less effort because dirt/grim come off much more easily, and a nice hydrophobic (anti-water) beading effect.

Thanks - local dealer has "seal tech", assuming that is similar.

All I can see is the tiny thumbnails. Can someone host these so they can be posted without attaching. I hate attached images on message boards.

Hi Baunton, it's just the picture. The tire is inflated perfect. The BMW 21" Wheel Setup is beautiful, on top of that the ride is excellent. The X5 handles awesome and the ride is smooth.

Opasha was 100% Correct. The dealer may have something similar, but I would have professional guys do it, not a dealership. If you search you will see a lot of guys have used OptiCoat Pro/2.0/Gloss Coat. I believe the company is Optumium, they are the leader in coating for cars.

How long does it last before you have to do it again? Also would you guys recommend it on Jet Black?

Hi Golden Horn. You would coat it every 3 years even though it's a lifetime coating which I believe nothing is lifetime...... As far as Jet Black, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! Any dark color owners will tell you that the scratching is highly reduced especially from car washes or washing in general.
Look into it, you'll be really happy.

I will take your advice. Considering you are in Jersey, do you have any recommended shops to get it done, honestly I don't trust half the places in NY, last time I got paint/touch up they simply painted over old paint or opti's website does not list shops, just the dealers and non in USA.

Also how much should I expect to pay for the service? Please feel free PM if mods are not happy with shop advertisement or prices. I guess I need to get it done right after taking delivery to avoid sealing nasty stuff that may happen if I wait..

Edit:
Found two places, it turns out they have a separate website for USA.

http://www.signatureblueautocare.com/
http://xclusiveautoworks.com/

Everything else is more than 50 miles away.

The best detail guy in my town does OptiCoat Pro for about $825-850 for the whole car. He does C-Quartz Finest for $725. Both are very good. It should not cost you more than $900 from what I have seen.

Call Phil at:
Detailer's Domain
70 Oak Street
Norwood, NJ 07648

Technical: 201-233-0003
E-mail: Phil@DetailersDomain.com

Trust me when I say to you, he knows his stuff and is excellent at paint correction and coatings. I usually see him 1 to 2 times a year on all my cars. As far as price, you get what you pay for, he did OptiCoat plus paint correction for $900.00. Apparently the company is F'ing him on supplies, but ask any guys on this forum and they will tell you he's worth his weight in gold! I know guys that come from the NYC, CT, PA, Delaware, Maryland, etc..... Look him up on this forum and go to his website and see his work. Good Luck! PM me when it's done.

Thanks for the info Opasha and jpsjr, Norwood is not too far.
I guess I will have to do this upon taking delivery of my X5, then no paint correction is needed, right?
