So i lost my keys and used the secondary set.......

Everything was set back to stock settings. Is this key related? So if i found my orignal set and unlocked the car...it will revert back to my custom settings?

yep. the settings are specific to keys. However if you saved your custom settings to profile, you can load those by selecting the profile in the idrive menu. This way you can have your settings even when using diff key..

Because of this I never was able to use my other set of keyfob because my daily one had all my settings saved and E70 did not offer option to load saved settings. I have been running on super low batteries on my daily keyfob. I think there should have been an option to turn off keyfob recognition on iDrive to avoid this. Mirrors, radio, seat position, etc all that stuff were linked to remote.

When you get home, leave the car unlocked and take your key inside. Go get the second key (the one without a profile saved to it) and use that one to lock the car (with the first key out of range). When you come back the next morning, only take the second key and unlock the car. I believe that works.

Thanks. Only 45 days to return and I just learn this now.
