My first issue...(ignition button problem)

Hello buddies!

I have my F15 for over a month now, and I noticed that sometimes (5-6 times) the "on-off" ignition button.... didn't work to turn off the car in the first press...it required like 3 times to turn off the car.

Long story short, I took the car to service today and they found a problem with the ignition sensor/module...and requires replacement from factory warranty...so I will take my car back tomorrow and will keep using it until the module is imported (like 3 weeks).

So, if some of you noticed something similar...be careful

This has been reported pretty widely before, I had it on mine where sometimes you needed to press the button 3 or 4 times to get it to turn off. Since I had a software update some months ago I have not had it happen again.

Really? So it wasn't necessary to replace the module?

No, just a software update from the dealer.

I'm not aware that BMW have officially acknowledged that there is a problem. I know at least one person on here had the on/off button replaced with no change. Quite a few people reported this some months ago, not sure whether they got updates or are just living with it.

I got the update for a couple of other things and this got fixed too.

But, in my case...the ista detected the failure...asked for some software update and still appears the issue...that's why they will replace the module ... I'll browse the forum though..thanks!

I hat the same problem, even after a software update.

Then they removed the module and everything was fine.

Good luck!
