Soon we'll have pics of the dual-slat grille on every color car...

X5FX , looks good.
Now I see what you need to be done in the car.
- Painted reflector
- M50d grill trim
- Spacers

50d grill trim is expensive...what are the spacers?

Spacers is to bring out the wheel so it sits closer to the fender.
Other than for the looks, you will have better lateral handling. Similar when you standing up with wider stance.

add Open Grill Right (US Passenger Side) ONLY (+$60.00)

how hard to install?

On 35d, the passenger side is a bit hard to install since you have the AdBlue tank behind it.
Also, you will need both side if you are going to do the open grill.

Oh, my bad. 35i is very easy. You do need both side though.

Evil bastid.
I still have the reflectors to install. Spacers perhaps, but will go with 285/45/19 in the rear (std Euro staggered setup) when I burn through the stock set. That is, unless I get talked into buying new wheels.

X5FX great shot!

- Why spacers and not new 20"/21" rims?

Because spacers = a couple hundred while new wheels = a couple grand+

That and "Why do you want to put different wheels on MY (wife speaking obviously) car?"

I've had some success in changing her mindset over the years. Shocked the hell out of me one time when I pointed out a nice car to which she responded: "Yep, I like it, although it needs to be lowered a tad." I about fell over or crashed the car...

Our X35d M-Sport came with black grills and only chrome frame, so I have some questions -

1. Could you please post some pics of black X5s with matte black grills, I am afraid black grills on black car won't have such a amazing contrast compared to black grills on white cars.

2. Is there a way to replace only the chrome frame and not the entire grill?

3. How hard or east is to swap lower grills from M50d?

Thanks in advance!

Instructions on swapping the grills with some black on black pictures here

http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...ghlight=kidney

one tip is to do the install on a warm day and also when the engine is warm so that the bumper area is more flexible.
