.
a couple of years ago I switched the snow tires on all our vehicles to Hakkapallitas Hakkapeliitta R2 - The finest non-studded winter tyreHowever, the DM-V2 looks like an awesome contender ... I'd buy them or the R2s have fun! . |

I have the DM-V2s in 18" on a dedicated set of wheels. They work very well in the snow, but aren't that great in the dry, as expected for a winter tire. I swap in/out as the snow comes and goes, so it's not an issue for me.
If price is not a concern, Hakkas are hands-down the best winter tires out there. All depends if you swap out for the season and want decent dry weather feel or not.

I've run Hakka R2 rubber on my 19" winter shoes on my last two F15 X5's over the past 3 years -- I will never buy a different winter set-up the rest of my BMW life. Awesome driving over passes at 45mph in multiple feet of snow while ROW navigates along at 10mph.

I just run scorpion verde all season runflats as my winter setup. 19/255's. Most of the time the streets are dry here in winter, but too cold for summer tires. They get along fine in the snow and will last longer.
