Oem rubber floor mats vs Carpeted floor mats

Currently I have the oem all rubber weather mats (51472347728) that always look dirty as soon as someone steps on them. I loved the all carpet mats I had in my E70, but the F15's oem carpeted mat (51472347731) has a rubber portion on the driver side. Does anyone have any input on the F15's oem carpeted floor mat on the driver side likes/dislikes , or any good suggestions for a nice carpeted floor mat.
Thanks

The stock mats are very thin and very basic. No design at all just black thin mats. I am sure on a rainy day they just leak like crazy. They also attract things just like any microfiber type material does so if you have pets beware. I have the OEM ones with the little silver badges on them and think they are nice. They do look dirty when they are new and you start getting dirt on them, but after the initial rubber wears a little they start to look better and dont footprint as bad. I think the weather tech's are probably the most popular out there but I didnt like the big lip on them, kind of reminded me of a grandma putting plastic on a sofa....

To each his own but I like mine and clean them with a damp rag after a vacuum and they look nice.

I prefer the rubber mats. I can hose them off and let them air dry.

Do your mats have any carpet on them or are they all rubber?

I looked at these in person at the dealer recently, more plastic than rubber and looked to be quite slippery with wet shoes, I passed on them.

Those are what I have also, don't care for them much, I don't like the feel under my foot along with the fact they always look dirty. I really prefer their oem carpeted mats. But have not found any for the F15, and I'm not sure about the quality/feel of any other brands.

I still have the OEM carpet mats sitting in my garage collecting dust, they are very flimsy and thin, not a fan at all....look for an upgraded set if you go that route. I like my mats I also have the matching cargo liner...to each his own I guess

If you have a good music system, please be aware that rubber mats are not good, being too sound-reflective.

Inside a car you'll want as much all round sound absorption as possible, just listen once with and without rubber mats and you'll likely hear quite a difference.

I recommend these. I swapped out the regular carpet like ones for these. Excellent in the winter when you have wet snowy boots and they are tough as old boots too.

Garage List
The only problem I have with the factory rubber mats is that they don't cover the center bump in the second row and they don't offer anything for the third row.

I am in the same boat, trying to upgrade my OEM carpeted floor mats. I saw the 3D MAXpider stuff on eBay. Anyone has them? Reasonable priced, seems like a good alternative... Even has carpeted and rubber tops options.

Cannot stand rubber floor mats. Mine came with a set and I sold them right away on Craigslist. Great way to take a classy vehicle and make it look like a pickup truck.

Here in the Pacific NW we have two things in abundance, rain and pine needles. Hence my preference for rubber floor mats.

True. Not much of an issue in Texas...

I bought Weathertechs again, dealer gave me those hard rubber winter mats but the short sides and gully in the middle made me return them in exchange for the carpet/rubber mats. I am waiting for those to come in. Weathertechs seem to really do the job for me, much better protection as they are deeper and come up higher in places like the deal pedal etc. 2 row WT's are only $189 and worth it to me.

Do you have a link to these? Are they more rubbery than the BMW mats?

Agreed, did you ever go to a carpeted mat?
