Dome Lights & Chimes

Hey everyone:

I was wondering if there is a way to turn off the dome lights and other lights in the cabin along with the chimes when needed? I am trying to achieve complete darkness.

The issue I'm having is coming home late at night with kids when they are fully asleep but when we get home all the lights and bells and whistles come on when doors open and close. I know the button on the top turns it off but it seems to reactivate after i close my front door but open the rear door for the kids again.

If you hit the three buttons above the rear view mirror (dome and the two map lights), you can control which lights come on when the doors open. Play around with it and see if that helps. As for the chimes, you can lower the volume through iDrive...but I'm unaware as to how to turn them completely off.

I think chime can only be disabled with coding.

being a father myself I dare to say that dome light or a chime will not awaken a baby ....

besides aren't you to take and put the kids out of the car anyway once you arrive home? hence "awakening" them anyway?
or they just sleep for next hours in the car garage????

I guess you've never seen a kid sleeping in a dad's arms.
