Recent calls do not show?
This is a problem that my wife is having with her iPhone 8. Whatever phone calls that she makes on the phone when she is not in the car do not show in the iDrive "recent calls" list. The phone calls that she makes in the car do show up.
She did not have this problem with her iPhone 7, and I'm not having this problem with the iPhone 7 either. Both phones are configured identically. Tried deleting her phone from the list of devices and re-pairing it, but still the same thing happens. I guess its a software update issue? I went to bmw.com/update, provided VIN and downloaded update to a USB stick, but when I tried doing update from the USB stick it said incompatible version. Anyone else having a similar issue? |

I've basically given up on my iPhone X working in my vehicle. Only plays music if plugged in but most of the time will only show 20 songs. For some reason it won't show the other 1,200. Bluetooth music playing doesn't work. Skips around and pauses like a scratched CD. Yesterday it couldn't even answer a phone call.
Love the iDrive system but compared to my Audi Q7 it is terrible with an iPhone.

Sorry to hear about all these frustrating problems - my iPhone 7 to 8 change went well, but I followed a trick that may help:
delete all BlueTooth connections on the car and on the phone, wait one day (presumably to have the car's software delete overnight all back-up copies of BT connections) and then connect the new phone. [Yes, it borders on superstition, but "modern technology is undistinguishable from magic" - I forgot who created this memorable quote...] |
