Bought a xLine 35d, any suggestions on making it look...sportier?
Hello all,
Just ended my X4 lease and got a great deal on a X5 35d. I custom ordered my X4 and I loved it! But I was considering a move to the VW Atlas because of the interior size and price--better for loading up the family and gear. But the offer for the X5 available on the lot was too good to pass up. Unfortunately, the dealership had no M-Sports so I ended up getting the fancy pants xLine. I of course far prefer the M-Sport but I will have to make do. I am looking for suggestions on what I can do to make my vehicle more sporty looking. Some of my ideas so far: - Tint on front windows - Smoke the rear taillights; I did this for the first time ever with my X4 and loved the look. - Having the chrome window trim vinyl wrapped in gloss black - Have the wheels wrapped to make them somewhat darker I have mused with the thoughts of getting the M-Sport aero kit but that is just too involved and too much money. I want to be somewhat reasonable with the cost of anything I do. Any thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated. |

20" wheels and extended wheel flares are probably the best bang for the buck.

Yes it does look great. So it looks like you added:
- fender flares - front and rear non-oem aero kit - i think your x5 came with sideboards - you painted the silver portion of the xline front aero section - you powder coated the exhaust tips - painted/wrapped or replaced the window trim And you did the install on nearly all of that; I lack the expertise and tools. How much would you say that all was? About $3k? Not counting $4-5k for your summer wheels? |

I consider myself a savvy Internet shopper
- non-oem gloss black front grills - $93.86 - non-oem fender flares - $225.31 - non-oem aero kit - $793.49 - non-oem running boards - $379.41 - carbon fiber M side mirror replacements- $113.76 - side vents gloss black - $36.10 - powder coat for exhaust tips - $50 - front windows tinted - $40 - painted window trim and front lower accents - $10 can of paint All work done myself. I have two kiddies, a 6 and 2 year old. The only time I worked on my car was at night past 9pm. Everything was pretty easy to install after researching how to do it. not including my summer wheels is...... My total build price is $1746.15 CANADIAN DOLLARS I didn't include the price of my H&R 15mm rear spacers which were $252.66CND When its lowered and finally clean for the summer I'll make a build thread.
