Stock wheels are 9.5x19 ET37. They are the stock 255x50x19 wheels with runflats. Looks pretty darn boring... I was thinking the best tires would be 275x40x20 on the front and 295x40x20 on the rears. My concern is the data from wiiltheyfit shows the front diameter was 737.6mm (old) and 728mm (new) for a reduction of 1.3%. The rear was 737.6mm (old) and 744mm (new) which is pretty darn close. Not sure about speedo and xdrive stuff... Any help is GREATLY appreciated. If they won't work, I'll try to find a buyer and keep looking for the staggered setup. The other thing that you'll want to confirm is the hub (bore) size. EDIT: you added stuff after I replied. You are gonna want to run a 315/35 on the rear. You'll want the front and rear diameters the same size. Or at least closer than the 295 gets you. |

If I can put wider tires on the wheels, then the "stock" size would be ideal for me: 275x40x20 fronts (on my new used 20x9.5 et40 wheel (stock wheel would've been 10.5x20 et40)) and 315x35x20 rears (on my new used 20x10.5 et35 (stock wheel would've been 11.5x20 et37)) The x5 is my wife's car and I will be sleeping in the basement if I screw it up! |

You'd have to look at the specific tire to see if it will work on a 10.5 inch wide wheel. Conti DWS-06's are spec'ed for 10.5 to 12.5 widths. I suspect many others as well. You are correct, 270/40 fronts and 315/35's rears and you'll be good. Plan ahead, put a nice sofa and 55" OLED TV down there and then it's not so bad :-) |

Hello, I need some advice from gurus in this thread. I have a F16 with square setup of 255/50/r19. Can I replace them with the staggered setup as below?
285/35/21 325/30/21 Any words on the drivability? Thanks! |

Drivability is great IMO, though I can't compare to 19's as I've never had that size wheel/tire on my X5. Ride quality depends largely on your tire choice, though there's only a few to choose from in the 21" OEM spec, and most/all of them are very good tires. I can confirm it will look exponentially better with 21's |

Will look amazing, but you'll get a much harsher ride. I tried 21 inch tires on my X5 for around a month before taking them off. I also had 21 inch on my previous Cayenne S and it seemed the ride wasn't as hard as on the X5. Anyway, it will look great and might be worth the trade-off.
