My question is whether VO coding is necessary as in other posts its reported that FDL coding will yield the same results as with VO coding. So am confused on both paths. Also does FDL mean the beams move vertically based on speed which I didnt notice to be working.

Is there a code that keeps the sunshade from closing?
Has anyone resolved this. I have the same problem with sunshade keeps closing bit by bit everytime.

You can just code the mirrors to fold with a single normal press instead of having to hold it....

Hi all!
Please assist with e-sys coding procedure for headlight driver modules (STML and STMR) for my F15 2017.
Replaced and installed both USED modules from another car for my bi-xenon headlamps (no hardware upgrades/downgrades etc). Performed the teach in of headlight driver module via vehicle diagnosis in ISTA+ (service function).
Nevertheless, the coding is required (ISTA is suggesting that as well ) and just want to be sure, so I don't mess up with FA/VO coding
Thanks in advance!

OK, been through this thread daily for 2 weeks now like a faithful RTFM soldier & trying literally everything suggested to no avail.

I cannot get my 2016 F85 to default to Sport mode, nor will it remember my last driving mode at next startup.

I've Tried:
  • Coding several times praying it will eventually stick (really shouldn't be a suggestion, but OK)
  • Resetting Driver Profiles (there is no 'delete' profile as others suggested here, only reset. There is an option to delete all driver/owner data though...is that it?? If so what will that do to my Connected Services?)
  • Coding with car on/with car off, windows up/windows down
  • Locking with fob, shutting down & walking away for 15+ minutes
  • Hopping up & down on one leg barking like a dog
  • Sacrificing a live chicken

Nothing.

I'm using Bimmercode with a brand new vgate iCar Pro on Android. Literally every other coding option I've tried has worked but this. What. Tha. FffFfFfff....????

I can't code this as well. And I sent messages to BimmerCode few months ago. They didn't fix it. Maybe you should send one too.

All I did in Bimmercode was Default Driving Mode set to Sport, and then Driving mode memory set to always....it was a while back though. Next time I'm in the car I'll double check...

Edit: I just went and checked, under BDC you need to have it set as I mentioned above, but you need to set those same settings under ICM as well....

In regards to Sport Mode (for those that don't have an adaptive suspension)...I was able to recode my "SPORT" mode from an all-or-nothing selection (meaning when SPORT is selected you have the chassis & drive train changes with no way of "individualizing" to only select the chassis). This was done using the BIMMERCODE app....going into EXPERT MODE and coding the HU_NBT (NBT headunit) & ICM (integrated chassis management) control modules.

This allows me to select SPORT mode and choose CHASSIS only which "tightens-up" the steering but leaves the drivetrain (engine, throttle, transmission) alone...so the drivetrain remains in the default COMFORT setting...but the CHASSIS (steering in my case since there's no adaptive suspension) goes into sport mode to tighten up the steering & kill the light feeling steering of COMFORT mode.

If I can code the vehicle to start up in SPORT mode by default...along with having the individualized selection for CHASSIS only...this will be GOLDEN. I'll have to go back to the two modules mentioned in the previous post above to see if I can set SPORT mode as default. This will help not have to deal with that "light/feather/numb" steering feel when in COMFORT mode....but not have the drivetrain (engine/throttle/transmission) engaged in the sport mode operational parameters.

The pics below shows the original iDrive screen...then the changes that appeared in the iDrive screen after coding to bring the INDIVIDUAL BARS in SPORT mode:
1. original iDrive SPORT screen (prior to coding) is all one BIG SOUP in that drivetrain & chassis settings can't be separated...its all or nothing if Sport Mode is selected

2. new iDrive SPORT screen (after coding) Drivetrain & Chassis can be selected together or separate/individual selection can be made

3. new CONFIGURE SPORT button

4. CHASSIS selection only (which tightens up the steering only if you don't have any adaptive suspension options)

5. DRIVE TRAIN selection only (puts the engine/throttle/transmission in sport mode only)

6. CHASSIS & DRIVE TRAIN Sport mode selection

The images below show what I changed in the HU-NBT (1 of 2 modules that require coding) to make the changes above that allowed me to configure my SPORT mode (individualize) so that I could select CHASSIS (only), DRIVE TRAIN (only), or both CHASSIS & DRIVE TRAIN.

I used the BIMMERCODE app & used EXPERT MODE to change settings in the HU-NBT & ICM control modules.

Changes made in the HU-NBT control module:

1. Go into HU-NBT module and select for 3001

2. You can scroll down through the selections to find it or use the SEARCH field and type MACRO_FDS

3. if your default selection says only_popup then change the selection to what is shown in the pic in #4 below

4. select popup_and_config
The images below show what I changed in the ICM module (2 of 2 modules that require coding) to make the changes above that allowed me to configure my SPORT mode (individualize) so that I could select CHASSIS (only), DRIVE TRAIN (only), or both CHASSIS & DRIVE TRAIN.
1.Open the ICM module then go into EXPERT MODE and select 300A DSC_ICM_Codierdaten

2. You can scroll down to find it or you can type SPORT into the search box to find the selections shown in the 2nd pic below {QdmKfvSport IndividualisierbarDEP}

3. if you see that NichtIndividualisierbar is selected, then change it to what is seen in the next pic below

4. Select Individualisierbar

Strange, I didn't need to do that at all. I have 2VM suspension (dynamic shocks as I understand it, not sure if this counts as adaptive like 2VF?). The option to 'customize' the Sport settings between chassis only or drivetrain only was already available, all I did was the Default driving mode and Driving mode memory in BDC and ICM....

The 2VM option is one of the adaptive suspensions...that's why you already had the ability to make different selections. Again, I have the standard suspension...so as you can see in that first pic of the Sport mode screen display...there was no ability for selection at all (originally).

I posted the info in case anyone that would like to be able to individualize sport mode would have an idea of how to go about it to make the changes.

My 2013 f06 650ix GC has EDC/DDC (adaptive suspension) and it came with a selectable SPORT mode from the factory.

What he said ☝🏿(ems328i) I didn't have to go threw hardly anything to get mine to start up in sports mode just those two things he mentioned i also have standard suspension I used Bimmer code as well is it possible it changed over the years with newer vehicles Meaning I have a 17F15 is it possible there are more steps with older ones also mine came with the ability to individualize sports and eco pro modes from the factory didn't need to touch that either

The difference must be the newer iDrive version you have. My 2014 has the the first NBT version...and it looks like you have one of the newer NBT/Evo versions (ID5 or ID6).

My Eco-Pro mode was selectable (like yours)...but Sport mode wasn't until I made the coding changes.

{newer NBT/Evo iDrive}

Yes, as mentioned in my post I've tried this, that was basic step #1. It doesn't work.

Well you mentioned that you tried to code it, you haven't actually given any further detail of the steps you took. It's not therefore beyond the realm of possibility that you may not have known to code in ICM as well as BDC since this is a common mistake. Hope you get it sorted.
