Reset the short-circuit lock-out in DBC

Hello Guys:

Newbie here, I had a license plate light go bad on my 2015 X5
replaced the bad LED lamp but the car still shows
"license plate lamp malfunction" message
Computer also had cut off the power to the lamps now.

I scanned it with OBD II scanner and found a fault code dtc 80486

tried using ISTA+ to scan and found the same error, I don't know, how I can can clean or reset reset the short-circuit lock-out in the Body Domain Controller (BDC).

Thanks.

Not in front of the ISTA right now but should be somewhere under Vehicle Management-Service Functions-
You should follow test plan steps, it will take you to the right procedure.
Also some info from TIS:
Quote:
Description for BDC up to G11:

Monitoring in general: When the light is switched on, a short circuit, open circuit or proper function of an electric circuit may be detected.

Detecting and checking a short circuit and the entry of the fault memory takes approximately 10 s.

Detecting and checking an interrupt and the entry of the fault memory takes approximately 0.5 s.

Description of treating a short-circuit for the BDC: When a short circuit is detected in an electrical circuit, this electrical circuit will be switched off after 10 repeated attempts to switch on for the duration of the current Terminal 15 cycle.

The control unit permanently switches off the corresponding output if a total of 15 terminal changes have taken place while there is a short circuit in a circuit.

After a repair has been completed, deactivation must be reset through a diagnostic job in the procedure. A terminal change (Terminal 15 > Terminal R > Terminal 30 > Terminal R > Terminal 15) must then be performed and the light must be switched on so that the corresponding output can be reactivated.

An output can be reactivated repeatedly by the diagnosis command in the testing procedure.

The control unit may only be replaced when the maximum number of possible restart attempts has been reached. This will be evaluated in the associated procedure.
