Led fog suggestions
I'm stuck with the halogen fogs with the xenon package in Canada
I'm Getting tired of the mismatched colour, and do a decent amount of rural night driving. ( and eventually when I get to start coding the truck, I will code it so I can have my fogs and running lights on together. Silly I have to do this, all of my other bmw's it's never been an issue.) I've seen a few guys go with the h11 weisslict spectrum fogs from Bimmian . I have my own concerns with Bimmian products, although they are on my side of the boarder. Anyone try the Morimoto 2 stroke ones? Or have any other led fog suggestions, short or sourcing out a pair of OEM ones which from what I understand requires the front bumper to be removed. I understand they are more for aesthetics than performance but just seeing what options are available, I'm willing to try something out to see how Much less output they are compared to the halogens. If I stick with a Halogen bulb, the options seem to be the Hoen xenon match but they get mixed reviews. Thanks.

Why don't you buy oem LED fog assembly and be done with it? It's only $128 new on ebay or even $68 used like new
Update: ops, sorry, I just read about need to remove front bumper to replace them |

+1 to this. For the money, I'd rather have the OEM fog lights even if it does require bumper removal to install.

I haven't seen the led fogs in person vs the halogens.
Are they basically as good as it gets? The bumper removal doesn't really deter me, so I might pursue that route if it's the best option. Just will have to plan a bit more time. Would I have to code anything if I converted to the oem led fogs?

the led fogs look real nice. just google and you can find pictures and videos of how they look.
you may have to code so that you dont get a burnt out bulb error message. with that said, there is discussion that yellow light is more effective in fog. i've used my led fogs a few times recently and i dont think they are that effective over the headlights. they make for nice cornering lights though. |

Here's a 40+ page thread of people trying to retrofit these. I suppose if they weren't great fogs, people wouldn't be putting the effort in to retrofitting them. https://www.hidplanet.com/forums/for...led-fog-lights
