F15 cargo mat

There are 3 cargo mat options; 2 by BMW (1 all weather & 1 liner) and 1 by weather tech, which is a liner. Which one do you have and like better? and which mat will allow for the tie down buckles to be useable?

I have #1. It's not bad but yes it is a tad bulky.

I've never seen #2. Can't even find it in parts catalogs.

I have #1, and you have to push the tie down rings all the way toward the front of the car for the mat to lie flat. I haven't seen #2 either...

I'm hoping that the mat in my E70 will fit my F15......does anyone know if this is true.

I also have #1 and it is a bit bulky. I think that #2 would be more functional in actually keeping the cargo area clean.

So only the first one (bulky) will lay flat with tie rods fore compartment? Are the rods removable? Sorry, my first "BMW SAV"

I have the Weathertech liner in the cargo area. It has 3 special areas on each side of the mat where you can make a cut out for the cargo tie downs to be used. If you don't cut the liner then you have to remove the tie down hooks for the liner to lay flat. The hooks come out easily (5 seconds work). The spots in the liner that can be cut for the cargo hooks are designed so that there is a lip all around the cut out area so that the mat will still function as a liner and protect the vehicle even if cut for the cargo hooks.

The bmw liner(#2 in this post) is very similar to the weather tech. The pattern is a bit different. Even though bmw calls it OEM, I wonder if weather tech manufactured it for BMW. Those two mats have similar cut out function.

I went with #1. Purchased online with free ship (bmw parts wanted $95 to ship) I installed it today. Am pleasantly surprised with the quality and fit. The buckles are usable still when it is moved to the ends. The mat is not heavy at all. Easy to handle and durable and easily cleaned. On the passenger side, a flap covers the bin, which increase the floor area somewhat. Both sides near the tailgate have stretchable fabric and have not figured out what is for. But def better than the liners.

FYI, if you have the cargo mat for the older X5 model it will fit the F15 cargo perfectly. I had a BMW cargo mat on my 2011 X5 and I moved it to my F15 and it is perfect. You can save some money if you have an old one.
