Odometer issue

Hey all,

Having an issue with my Odometer and hoping I can get it rectified.

I bought my f15 with 63,150 miles on file with the dealer ect. After a few months I’ve noticed that I’m tacking on way more miles than usual. My typical Daily routines only add up to about 3k miles a year. I’m currently at 71+ miles.

Any thoughts on this? Could I get a mechanics to roll back with my firm evidence?

Thanks again.

No mechanic with an ounce of ethics would ever do this, and thankfully for used car buyers modern cars are incredibly difficult if not impossible to do this.

Have you actually measured it accurately?

Prepare yourself for a stupid question, but I gotta ask:

Are you sure it’s displaying miles and not kilometres?

Hey, not a stupid question at all: Yes it’s def in miles and not Km.

And I would hope the dealership didn’t tamper with the Odometer in the first place.

Any ideas on how else to measure correct distance if miles?

I wouldn’t trust just your phone to confirm miles driven, have another car follow you and see what it says.

You might be just enjoying your new car and driving it more than usual. Try to reset trip computer and measure the distance with phone and by google maps for example, compare the distance.

Just a double verification that when you go into SETTINGS and look under UNIT (of measure)...you have MILES in the DISTANCE field?

Only asking because we don't know which instrument cluster you have...which may have both the miles & kilometers showing.

If a car was a prior lease, it could be the previous owner had a 'mileage blocker' installed.

And people ask why used cars from NY/NJ should be avoided...
