Purchased Crossbars & Thule cargo box

Well, after a fair amount of research I just purchased a set of OEM crossbars and the XL Thule Force cargo box.

Thanks to MattBianco for sharing his knowledge and experience.

I should receive the goods by next week and I'll post an update with pics.

Okay, installation went smooth. I followed Matt's instructions versus the instructions that were attached.

It took me about 35min from start to finish and I did it by myself.

I'm going out on a test drive and will let you all know if there are any issues.

Test drive was good. Virtually no noise below 60mph. Faint noise when above 60mph and at 85mph you can hear it but it's very acceptable.

I'm very happy with the how well everything fits and looking forward to really testing it out when we take a long road trip for the 4th of July.

My experience, exactly. With the moonroof liner closed it is even quieter. Glad to hear it worked out to your satisfaction.

The OEM roof rails were $223, and the Thule Force XL was $530.

Shipping was free, I forget how much the sales taxes were.

I had some Discover points that I applied so I ended up paying less than $350.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that... With the liner closed it was very very quiet.

Although I read the posts and the reviews about how good the set up was, I was really surprised to experience it myself.

Now I gotta figure how to store that Thule in my garage!!

If you don't want to suspend it (costly), you can store it vertically, leaning against a wall, with tension straps, or hang it by a bar.

mine is the first photo and held with one of these Link: http://amzn.com/B009OM0DC0 connected to hook on each side..

Other approaches:

Hi,'can you post or pm the link for OEM crossbar? Do you mean $230 included x4 towers and x4 installation kits? That's pretty cheaper than REI yakama. I'll going to install crossbar first and the for a boat roof handler.

I did a Google search for "BMW F15 OEM Crossbars"

Here's where I purchased mine:
