All that just for knee pads? Not bad!

Does anyone have pics of the knee pads in their X5? I may consider this. My trim is already scuffed up.

the interior is the same on X5 or X5M (or X6) so the pic above is what you would also see in a normal X5 with the pads.

I think this is a mod worthwhile. I'm very happy with the improved look. BMW should have done so from the start (just as black nappa leather availability)

Still have to receive the invoice. But somewhere around mid part of 200?'s per piece and a couple of minutes of work. Which can easily be done by yourself but I had the dealer do it and also bought the USB 2016 map update.
Maybe in the US the kneepads are way cheaper. For it is worth the investment, I think the trim had a plastic feel to it which we could do without in such an expensive Car. But maybe that's because I have the leather dashboard as well

It is DIY.
There are multiple part numbers since it would depend on your interior color.

No additional parts needed. You just remove the old one and replace with the new one.
The old one is held by 1 screw below the center console. So you need to remove that first.

Any insight on where the screw is?

Partnumber I wouldn't know. But black Dakota leather for a normal X6 will be the part. NO X6M with NAPPA that will be white stitching. I could ask for the partnumber at the dealer if desired.

Where do you get these diagrams? Are they something a consumer can get? Thanks.

Thanks for the pics Diper, much appreciated.
I'm receiving my X5 35d in a couple of months and i'm absolutely getting the Knee pads, it makes the interior look so much better!
Problem is that my interior is ivory white extended Napa, do you think they have knee pads for that type/color? If so, i'm getting them 100%! thanks!

Looks great! Can you please which dealer (if it was in NL) did you buy it from? Did you get a discount? I am also looking for a reliable detailer in NL if you know. Want to put a nano layer so car needs to be washed less. Thanks

If you can get the part number it would be helpful - that's the same interior I have (will have shortly).

Thanks
