My 2014MY X5 feels like a prehistoric thing now. Really looking forward to the re-designed X5!

One thing to consider is one rule of thumb on new models is to stay away from the first year model which is usually plagued with bugs and issues.

There's two more articles now. Also BMW of Australia was quoted in one of the articles by Motoring, and they said the new X5 is coming before the new X7 in 2018. I'm disappointed too as I just got mine.

from what reading there isn't going to be a LCI. Just moving to the new body
style probably in 2019. The pics seeing are the proposed X7. which will work out good for me. 3 years and the extra year to get the bugs out RM Car Design uses their Photoshop skills to pen the next-generation BMW G05 X5. With the next X5 being still four years out, the design speculations are simply just speculations, but nonetheless it’s interesting to see what the design could look like. If you read the original Autocar article that MT is referring to, you will see MT left out one word. To quote the original article, "Despite the current X5’s relatively short production life (it only arrived three years ago), the model’s successor is already in advanced stages of development. It could arrive next year using BMW’s new Cluster Architecture (CLAR), which is predominantly used as a rear-wheel drive structure but can also cater for four-wheel drive layouts."
Here is the article in it's entirety: http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/ne...-underpinnings

There is nothing in this article and the other articles that says for certain.
BMW Australia also said 'coming years, mid-term', he also said the whole x series lineup will be updated. I thought the x6 just got updated, x3 coming soon. If it's going to come out its most likely next year for 2018. By then I only have 8 months left on my lease. But agree, no LCI sucks... A main reason why I like BMWs is because their styles don't look old after couple years. |

As a person who owns 3 M coupes, I think it would be great if the F15 was only in production for 3 years. But I highly doubt that will be the case.
The competition is strong, yes. But so are F15 sales. The incentives are the indicator. While there are usually pretty good incentives, they aren't enormous, lets-keep-the-line-running incentives.

I'd toss out this article too: http://www.motoring.com.au/bmw-x5-to...cycled-102029/ I have no idea how solid their reporting is but it has something to consider.
As far as I know, the X5 has only one plant. The article states the xDrive40e is being released in Australia in May. If BMW is going to START delivering that model this May AND release the new X5 this fall...they'll have a product on sale for only a few months. That seems like a very odd decision. A lot of these discussions are also using years and I keep seeing a tendency in the forums to operate in model years. The general public tends to think in terms of calendar years and I think that's how these articles are being written. So, all that said and with the few rumors we have...I'd guess the MY 2017 X5 being the last year of the F15 with the MY 2018 moving to the CLAR architecture with a release in fall of 2017. |

If BMW does this, Ill never buy a BMW again. I have strong doubts that they would do this to their customers, but more and more reports have come out now, suggesting they all copied the same source or that it is true...However, this article seems to have gotten some kind of confirmation from BMW Australia.

Another thing that's making me doubt about it is the 40E hybrid, some people just got delivery of the hybrid. So BMW is going to screw these guys and make their cars outdated in one year. All of the articles say 'could' which means nothing.

They will look to get a minimun of 6 years (probable 7) out of the F15, changing early will go against company standards. The car isn't 3 years old yet the sheer expense of an early change is astronomical.
They may add a few minor body changes and add extra wheel/paint options but it's probably too early in the F15's life even for that! |

This would be very weird, the 5-series has been out since 2010 and still looks the same. And the replacement for the F15 would arrive before the older 3- or 5-series? I'd feel screwed and not buy a BMW again. On the other hand, I might not anyway...
