Coding & dealer software updates

If I get my vehicle updated by my dealer with some new software updates, do I lose all codings or just the codings of the modules that were updated?

Yes, you lose every coding you have done.

Thanks, I thought that might be the case.

No point doing any more coding until it is updated then, good job I have all my codes documented.

Hopefully I can get it updated next week, dealer allowing.

Yeah I had to do the same thing and lost all of my previous coding. Thankfully I had gotten mine done with San Diego BMW Coding back in January and they re-do coding for free if it is ever erased by the dealer. Had to throw a shout out because he did it the very next day I got the car back from the dealer!

By the way I don't like how I have to do navigation voice searches with the updated software.

So much easier to use Send to Car with your cell phone through BMW Assist Messages .
