Can I pause audio from bluetooth?

I like to listen to podcasts and audio from my iphone almost exclusively while in the car. Is it possible to control my audio (pause, fwd, rwd, etc?) from the steering wheel or any buttons in the center stack?

Having been streaming for 3 years on X5 (2012)
I don't know about pause, I don't think there is a pause button (I think Mute is sort of Pause) but you can definitely forward/rewind/etc. bluetooth. I do that all the time with my blackberry, even on streaming music services not just downloaded podcasts.

Interesting. Does the mute actually pause it or only turn down volume?

If you are playing a source that is pausable, then the mute does pause it. If you are playing something like a radio station that is a live feed, then mute just turns the volume down.
