2015 X5D initial mpg numbers
The first 140 miles in 100% in town driving with absolutely no highway driving is 23.9. Reset the mpg display and went on a 220 mile interstate trip with about 30 miles of pretty steep hills driving 70-80 mph today. Averaged 33.9 mpg. We've had the car 2 weeks and are still on our first tank of gas. I'm impressed with these numbers. Especially since the car isn't broken in yet, so I'm confident they'll get a little better down the road. What's your 2015 getting?

I've gone about 700 miles, with a city/hwy split of about 65%/35%. This is almost entirely Comfort Mode, as I tend to exceed the break-in recommendations when I use Sport .
As for mpg, it depends on which source is used. If I calculate based on how much diesel I pumped for those miles, it comes out to about 20.25. The trip computer calculates it as about 23.5. I'll probably take a longer hwy trip next weekend and see how that stacks up. One item to note is that this is Florida, so the A/C is working very hard pretty much all the time. Not sure how much A/C affects engine performance in modern cars, but thought I'd mention. One other note is that this is about 7mpg better than my 35i was getting after 3 years' driving with the same city/hwy mix. Given that premium and diesel are about the same cost here in my area, that's an improvement for me.
