Got this info from another post. After coding, does your VLD have these features?

Nop, you can code it w/o front camera.

Here is a more detailed explanation about VLD found in Coding Threat thanks to opasha

Variable Light Distribution has several different modes of operation (for Low Beam):

1 - City Light: Shallow and Very Wide Beam Pattern active from 0 - 50kph (30MPH) (Both Headlamps are Panned outwards 12 horizontal from center and 0.7 lowered vertically)

2 - Standard Light: Same Basic Beam Pattern as with 8S4 Enabled and Headlamp Switch Set to Auto. Active from 50 - 110kph (30MPH - 68MPH)

3 - Guiding Fog Light - Shallow and Wider Beam Pattern Enabled with the Front Fog Lamps On and Headlamp Switch in Auto and Speed 0 - 110kph (Both headlamps are panned outwards 8 horizontal from center and lowered 0.7 vertically)

4 - Highway Light - Long Throw Pattern illuminating approx. 25% further than Standard Light. Active from 110 to 250kph (68MPH- 155MHP). (Driver's Side Headlamp is panned 3.5 outwards Horizontal from center and lowered 0.25 vertically, while the passenger side headlamp is raised 0.2 vertical) (thank you @shawnsheridan)

Clarification of VLD, HBA, and Anti-Glare/Anti-Dazzle (thank you @skalberti):

VLD is Variable Light Distribution - It only works on your low beams to move your headlights and position the beams on the road depending on steering angle and vehicle speed.

HBA is High Beam Assistant - USA spec high beams that turn off in the presence of headlights or taillights of other cars and automatically turns the high beams on if no other cars are present.

Anti-Glare, Anti-Dazzle - European spec high beams that enable your car to keep the high beams on without blinding other cars.

In simple words your lights are following your turns on the road according to your speed, more you turn more they follow,
It's pretty cool, I love it

Don't the Xenon lights do that from factory? Mine came that way, I think some people call it Dynamic Lighting Or something like that.

From factory, if you have adaptive headlights they will pan however as daytonaviolet mentioned above - depending on vehicle speed the beam will adjust and spread individually with VLD. So a wider beam spread during lower speeds vs highway speeds.

You can see beams widening with VLD enabled on the left in this video...

Update: Currently on Software 002.255.073, Just checked BMW.com and 003.255.081 is available, contemplating upgrading not sure if I some codes will get relegated..

Update2: Nothing changed after update, all coding as is.

I can confirm this steering wheel heater code works as well.
so how about that screen shot would appreciate a pic of once you're inside 3070 LciMaster and then inside each ensemble layer.

For those of us with older coding but yet newer than original, we only go down to "GROUP_0_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_6"

Ensemble 1-5 each of 8 layers while "6" only has 2 layers.

Also when you go into one of these layers within each ensemble the only options are "UNK_PARAM_0", "UNK_PARAM_1", AND "Unassigned value" which is the one default selected, and "Custom value..."

when you go into the layers are you seeing actual german words representing colors?

Yes exactly, colors written in German.

Edit: I apologize but the BimmerPost did not upload them in the correct order.

Edit 2: I'm wondering if you manually adjust the value that's under each color, will that do anything.

I for sure changed the colour of the first orange one. It's like a yellow colour but I don't know what I changed or where I did it.

Ya definitely don't have those colors show up once inside the layers. Maybe I can use those color codes to change it. I'll give it a try tonight.

Not this app

Carly potentially could be worth looking into, never personally used it.

Probably a good question for the E70 forum.

In BDC - 3070.
Search for ensemble_layer...
if your software is compatible you can change 8 ensemble, 3 layers. Lots of Video online on the topic as well.
I can confirm this worked flawlessly for me, now I'm not sure if it depends on software version as previously mentioned I will post up my version when I get home to confirm. This however took me 30 seconds to code within BimmerCode:

Just got mine coded on latest version by adjusting the RGB values after running into some DIY trouble.

Your ambient lighting looks WAY brighter than mine though! Did you do any coding to adjust the brightness?

Other than selecting the brighter version of the color, I didn't do anything additional. hellgruen, hellblau and hellrot are the 3 brighter versions of set colors it allowed me to code. In that picture the Lila and Gruen (Green) are normal, and the Red is bright red. I'm sure you checked the iDrive Ambient brightness, not sure if ESYS would allow adjustable LED brightness.

I haven't had any issues with my BT, I have a 15' F15 running ID4 and I was able to code everything possible using BimmerCode. Never dropped or failed a coding session.
