If this is the one that screws into the bumper cover itself, it will not work on the F15 as there is only one tow-hook receptacle even though there are two covers (one is a dummy). Why they did this is beyond me as the only solution to carry bikes only (no towing) on the rear is to get a hitch installed, which is $$$.

You are correct. The dealer had no idea why they changed the design. I'm guessing to get people to buy more bike racks. There are quite a few things on my 2016 that are not desirable and actually a step backwards.
