It's not limited to the X series of vehicles. Even numbered BMWs in general are not larger that the odd numbered vehicle with which they share underpinnings. Instead they are meant to be the more sporty and stylish (typically with less utility as well) alternative to their odd numbered counterparts. To get a bigger offering, you add two.

We have one its called the X5 and there will be another one...

This is exactly my point. The X6 is a smaller vehicle than the X5 which I am well aware when I was shopping for SUV last year. My family needs a full size 7 passenger vehicle and would love for BMW to have this. I'm hoping for an X7 to take care of this
May also be referring to 7 seater active tourer.

Me too. It looks more athletic than the current X6 (which itself looks pretty tough).

This car is far from the classic BMW spirit (of light, simple sedans) but if a person can get over that and consider it on its own merit, it's pretty killer.
