Naw, they are terrible at getting back to people in my experience. I've had to call then e-mail to get a response. They just figure you have a loaner and don't mind waiting while they twiddle their thumbs.

It controls the wastegate which releases excess boost pressure. I believe it's a pretty easy fix. They have it sorted and fixed?

part had to be ordered, and it came in today. so they said they need to replace the part, do an extensive test drive to ensure it doesnt throw any other codes. then i need a new inspection.. .so if all goes well i get it back thursday

Sounds like the delay was just them dragging their feet on diagnosing it.

Loud Continuous Static/Noise from all Speakers

I just purchased a 2014 BMW xDrive35i X5 from a friend and was loving it! Exactly a week after buying it, it suddenly started emitting a loud continuous noise/static sound from all the speakers at the same time. The volume cannot be adjusted and the noise continues until the X5's power turns off a few minutes after the engine is turned off. My cameras have all stopped working as well. My first thought was that I have a bad ground somewhere that shorted out my cameras and was causing the noise in speakers. I have not been able to find the bad ground. The noise starts as soon as I press the ignition button, without the engine being started. It does not stop until I turn the car off again. I have narrowed it down to something within the iDrive, due to the fact that when I removed the fuse to the iDrive unit, the noise completely stops. I reset all my settings in my iDrive to what they were when I purchased the vehicle and the noise continued. The only thing, besides removing the iDrive fuse, that stopped the noise was switching my profile from my custom named profile to the "Guest" profile. Does anyone know why that would matter or have any similar experience with this? I saw online that some people were blaming the L7 Amp for the noise issue, but switching profiles would not explain the amp as being the problem. Neither would a bad ground or short explain how the Guest profile would fix the noise. Anyone have any ideas because I am completely at a loss on this one. I am not the smartest tool in the shed but this one has me completely baffled.

How about if you reset/restore your profile to default?

my last car.. (F30 335i with the same N55 engine) gave me three years of uninteerrupted fun.... this one.. not even a year.. and here we go.

snagged an appt for today at 515 local time with a loaner for me. Service guy said it should ok to make the 20 minute trip to the dealership.. if it feels liek it can't make it.. stop and call for a tow.

keeping fingers crossed. Good thing is.. might as well get the 1 year service done while its there...
How in gods green earth did you not only get a same day appt but get one with a loaner! Haha it's an art to get an appt with a loaner at my dealer. Literally 3-4 week minimum and then they always take a day or two to even start to look at it. I hate having only 1 dealer in my area.

I think he just got lucky! I had that happen once when someone canceled their appt last minute and had needed a loaner.

F16 X6 rear hatch motor or part stopped working again! Repaired 2 years ago under warranty, I'll see how it goes, but if it does not right itself I'll end with a BMW bill...!!!

Don't recall the exact size but look at FCP Euro. I just had to get them for my 2014 x5 msport after having the wheels repainted. That was the best price I could find at $8.12/sticker...

In for service - no software updates requested... got back and have new GPS tracking, the widgets are new, BMW software is different....AND.. alarm is now muted and panic fires horn instead of alarm sound.

Of course, BMW says none of this is happening

Only certain vents blowing and no AC after pulling off the dash trim?

So yesterday i pulled off the the front vent trim and the radio/hvac control panel to clean some coffee stain in the plastic radio buttons. I disassembled the lower part of the control panel, cleaned pcb, rubber dome, switch caps and guides. After i put everything back to gether exactly the way i disassembled it, all harnesses, screws (triple checked), air stopped coming out every vent except the front floor vents with no cold ac no matter what combination of any control input. The control panel lights symbol and buttons all works, vent flaps all work. Today, Even more strange, after messing with the conetors again to quadriple check, now only the defrost vents work, still no ac, and litterally nothing but those vents would blow air out. Wth? Oh also i checked all the fuses.

2014 BMW X5 50i Transmission issue

When I start driving from the complete stop the transmission jerking or harsh shifting from 1st to 3rd gear then working fine. The same issue while slowing down to make a stop or about to reach a full stop, the car jerks when it is downshifting from 2nd to 1rd gear. It doesn’t happened all the time. This is quite annoying. Went to BMW dealer twice. The dealer updated software once and when I complained second time did not find any problems..

Have you guys seen a fix for this issue or experienced the same problem?

Thank you.
