I run a successful IT company with 3 of my best friends and we are taking advantage of some tax incentives that are in place this year for new vehicles that are over a certain weight (combined with section 179). You can do this up to $500,000 so we decided to purchase 4 2017 X5M's in different colors. It ends up saving us a ton in taxes and we have always wanted X5M's ever since we drove them at the track where they are made back in 2013.

We want them fully loaded and in 4 different colors (donington grey w/ argon brown, long beach blue w/ silverstone, alpine white w/ red, and black sapphire metallic w/ black.) We all want 21" rims, night vision, executive package, the sound system upgrade, park assist, driver assist, etc... The only thing we don't want is the rear entertainment package.

Congrats, very cool! In Canada buying any vehicle above $30k through your company is just too painful for a healthy balance sheet and the "add back penalty" for doing so is just not worth it. I wonder if we have a section 179 somewhere .

Haha you guys are hilarious.

The guy next to the white car and I are the owners and the blue and black cars went to our Vice Presidents who have been with us since the beginning.

I'm not secretive about the business model if anyone is curious. We closed 2016 with about ~$105M in sales but our gross profit margins are very small (about 4% average while we grow as fast as possible by saving the government millions of dollars on their IT equipment). Our net profit margins after buying the cars will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $1M after paying out well above average salaries and bonuses. We've had some attention from Forbes and INC because of growth, and a few jiu-jitsu sites because of our obsession. If anyone is curious and wants to look us up just PM me... We have a long way to go but the most important thing for us is to enjoy the ride while it lasts. The future looks good though for now... especially to and from work every day :P

Because everyone would be jealous of whoever gets the X5M... lol

We sell IT products and services to the Federal Government and its prime contractors. Basically our business model is to sell all of the products really cheap, in huge bulk, in order to save the government millions of dollars. We help them understand the way that IT can be purchased more efficiently and for cheaper, and that is our business model. We're HUBZone and 8(a) Certified which gives us an advantage in contracting because it is easier for contracting officers to award things to us, especially since we are cheaper as well. We are also on some very large government-wide IT acquisition contracts.

:threadj acked:

I'm going to use our 5 minutes of fame to jack my own thread and talk about jiu-jitsu. Everyone should try it. It's the most amazing form of self defense and I'm convinced that it is one of our most crucial ingredients as a successful management team. If anyone wants to try it, I'll help you get started by recommending a gym in your area and telling you everything you need to know. For those of you that don't know, gracie/brazilian jiu-jitsu is one of the main cores of MMA (UFC, etc.) and was actually the reason UFC was started in the first place (to prove that jiu-jitsu was the superior martial art). I promise it will change your life. I have more than one close friend who has lost more than 100lbs in jiu-jitsu alone. I myself was very skinny and frail before I started training and now I'm a completely different person physically and mentally. Everyone is missing something until they find jiu-jitsu in my opinion.

If you are looking for something but not sure what... I recommend gracie/brazilian jiu-jitsu.... I can't recommend it enough. It changed my life and several people close to me.

Happy new year!!!!

Thank you. We really appreciate all of the feedback. Life is a dream that you have some control over. Try jiu-jitsu (gracie/brazilian specifically). That's the best recommendation I know how to give as a person.

But Neo said, "I know kung fu." Not jujitsu. And he was the enlightened one.

As a tax CPA, if your CPA told you you could expense the entire cost in the first year you need to look for a new one. If the IRS saw that on your business return you would lose that battle in a second.

But those vehicles are sweet. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
