Interior trim wrap Carbon Fiber gloss or regular 3m

So I ordered the 3M standard CF wrap and a high gloss one as well to wrap my aluminum trim on my black m sport 35i. Based on images I have seen, the M Performance CF trim kit seems to have a slight gloss to it and I love the way it looks, just not a fan of the Alcantara. (Had an Alcantara steering wheel on a 330 zhp and it was a pain to keep clean and replaced it a couple times. told myself never again especially on a daily driver).

Anyway, thought I woud ask members on here for their opinions. I understand some have strong opinions agaisnt wrapping the interior of a car like this, but to each their own. Let me know your thoughts: Gloss or No Gloss?

Gloss 100% if you want it to look similar to oem. I'm not sure why anyone would be against it, the options and quality of the vinyl these days is top notch.

Both look good to me, but gloss is beautiful! ironically I ordered similar CF roll to wrap my aftermarket roof spoiler

Personally like the non-gloss version as it still does have some glossiness to it and creates a more textural appearance.

Dang, that’s a tough call. I like them both. Post pics when you’re done!

In the process of doing mine in gloss. Dash and center console done so far. The gloss fits with the glossy black part of the dash better IMO.

Thanks all! I will be going on the gloss side as it is the closest to real CF. I just purchased another gloss product and I will decide which one and see if there is any difference.

Here are all the gloss carbon fiber finishes offered by metro restyling. I believe the vivid version (above) is one of the best out there at the moment

The entire top row are "printed" and don't look authentic at all. Wouldn't use any of those

Second row is more realistic with a pattern you can feel but lacks a real gloss finish.

The best of the samples if you ask me is the cheapest one - Metro HD Flexible Carbon Fiber

The 5D Carbon Fiber available from China is actually the most realistic print I have found. It tends to be thicker with less tack, but looks so much better then all these.

Anyway - hope this helps a bit

Yes, took the better portion of the day as you need to disassemble the doors to get the trim off to wrap. scale from 1-10 I would rate it a 4

Finally got some semi decent pics. I have yet to tackle the doors. Been a learning process to do a good job, but not too hard.

That looks awesome! I have thought about swapping out my Aluminum trim for the OEM CF so many times but couldn't justify the cost. Definitely going to do this!

Looks good! I am waiting to tackle it once I get the leather knee pads I ordered for the center console trim. I ended up picking the 5D High Gloss wrap instead of the VVIVID Epoxy High Gloss. Once I get it installed, I will post some pics.

Subscribed! Really considering doing this myself. Anyone know how much film u need to tackle the job? My knee pads are replaced with the matching leather interior. So just doors and dash trim.

Probably 72"x36" would do unless this is your first time trying to wrap. If so just add a foot 72"x48" - the longest piece is about 4'X6" so you will be covered. Cost you about $70-$100 tops
