Ambient lighting Issue

The LED strip on my driver's door is not lighting up. Everything else on door working fine (windows, mirrors, locks). Any ideas?

May need to remove door panel and see if you're getting voltage to the bulb /led.

2015. I thought that the strength of led was that they last "forever"?

I would assume that it can easily be replaced (relatively speaking) if it did, indeed, fail?

LEDs don't last forever. They do last a long time. And they are on ever second your car is on. Plus LEDs never last the advertised lifespan because other components they're connected too will fail. Could be anything from bad solder, chipset, wiring, connectors etc. I mean you can even compare a 2014 to a 2017 and see a huge strength of color (brightness) difference.

I'm going to try changing LED strip myself (out of warranty). I'm good with door panel removal but is there anything specific to know regarding the removal of the actual strip? Thanks

This is a very very sensitive strip, my guess you will end up breaking it. I know that because I broke the one behind the seats. Just take your time and don't bend it in any shape or form.

Here's a i video on removing the door panel, but its for passenger side I assuming it might be the same on the driver side maybe a little more wiring due to the window switch.

Are all of the other LED strips illuminating?

I had an issue where several of mine were not illuminating, but some were. It turned out to be an unplugged connector to the bulb under the steering column.

Only driver door strip not lighting up. I don’t really care too much about breaking it as it’s inexpensive enough. I would assume that it just snaps into place? Thank you all for,the help.

Okay then. Please do let us know how you changed it. My 2014 strips are getting quite dim, so I might replace them if it's easy enough!

The light is a bulb and it shines on the end of a plastic rod, which acts as a fiber optic.

So how do you remove and replace the fiber optic strip?

Why would you replace anything else than the RGB LED?

You don't replace the fiber optic. Just the black piece at the end which has Bulb inside and shines on the end of the fiber optic.

It looks like the bulb needs to be changed, not the strip. I found these as part numbers, depending on the side:
