I'm curious: for those getting 8%-12% off MSRP before rebates on brand news vehicles, are you working hard to get dealers to throw in that much?

I want to order a 2018 X5 M-Sport, but it seems the best I'm getting is 5%-6% off, which is pretty much at invoice.

Sharing any sound arguments for a dealer to drop below invoice would be warmly welcomed!

Mind sharing more details like what rebates you were able to use? Getting 22% of MSRP (on brand new ordered car) is unheard off.

Hello All,

This is my first post on this forum.

Bought the 2018 BMW X5 35i over the weekend. It was around 16% below the MSRP tag.

I went to BMW of Sliver Spring in Maryland (Live in NJ). Given the prices in NJ, drove 150 miles to get better price.

MSRP was $68104
Sale Price $57000 (after all discounts) + Tax + Title.

They charged : $299 documentation fee.

Options Included:
Imperial Blue
Black Dakota Leather
Premium Package
Driver Assistance Package
Parking Assistance Package
Heater Steering Wheel
Aluminium Running Board
Rear Manual Window Shades
Heated Rear Seats
Comfort Rear Seats
Apple CarPlay

Actually it's all part of a special program for DoD employees here in Germany, so admittedly, I wasn't posting with full disclosure. In all honesty though, this is an unheard of deal, even for German vehicle purchase programs here (BMW, VAG, Military Auto Source etc.). We just stumbled into the dealer one day and the gentleman pointed to the sign they had up. Probably wouldn't have bought if it weren't for this sale which runs through May, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. But, you only get to pick the paint, interior leather, interior trim, and wheels. That's it. No adding or removing options from my list above. No negotiations on options or price.

In any case, we're excited and cannot wait for the X5 to arrive.

That's what I was thinking when I saw "Germany" in your location.

Curious, do you get a U.S. spec vehicle under this program, or is it an E.U. model?

(With the new digital display, there is probably very little that needs to be done on the production line to meet each government's regulations.)

The best part: you get to drive on nice roads with tuned-in drivers. Jealous.

That sounds like an incredible deal. Did you have to work hard for the 16% off? Is it a demo or "0 miler?"

Well done.

It's a US spec vehicle and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to breaking it in on the autobahn.

The only thing I need now is to retrofit a heated steering wheel. Doing my research, but exact coding info is scant.

No, It was pretty easy. Their website already discounted more than 12%.

https://www.bmwofsilverspring.com/

It's not demo car. car got 6 miles.

Just have to see what other promotions they have. I have worked with Sales Person - Kan Zhou.

Every thing was done on the phone. Just went to dealership for pick up.

That is cheaper than the CPO ones I was looking at!

That is incredible; thanks for sharing.

If I can't get a local dealer to play nicely, it might make sense to fly out and drive the car back.

Does anyone have the lease details on these for March 2018? Residuals and money factor?

I believe residuals are: 10K - 59%; 12K - 58%; and 15K - 56%.

MF seems to be 0.00156.

Thank you. Is anyone getting a better money factor going outside BMW Financial? 0.00156 (3.74%) isn't the most compelling offer.

That sounds great. I've been shopping and it's like pulling teeth to get 5-6% off around here...even for vehicles on the lots.

If you don't mind sharing, a PM with your dealer would be great. (Or if you're fine to post publicly.)

I've been using the same guy for a while now and his deals are very good. This also varies between programs, but generally he's aggressive with the discounts.

Call David Strassman at BMW of Silver Spring.
