Looks like a California Dealer has an Mineral White AC Schnitzer X5

So, I was browsing the web looking for pictures to show a fellow member his Dark Graphite with 449 or 451 wheels, and I came across this beautiful Mineral White AC Schnitzer F15 X5. It seems to be fully loaded. If anyone lives in California and is waiting to buy an X5, I thought this might spark your interest .

Thanks Opasha. Not a big fan of the wheels, like the color of them, but not the style. Only My Opinion...... Lol, don't want to get picked on......

Looks like this is the same one that was at the Bimmerfest last month. I'm honestly not a fan of this setup.

I like the front but the rear not so much and I can't stand the wheels.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion . I just found it and thought I'd share since you don't see many advertisements on where to buy these custom models in the states. Some like it some don't. I personally like my wheel setup better . It does seem a bit bulky looking for my taste. The rear kind of sticks out a bit too much, and I don't particularly like those exhaust tips. The factory ones on the M-Sport and the 5.0i look better/more aggressive. Does anyone know if the AC Schnitzer package adds any tuning/hp modification to the engine? I didn't read up on it, so I'm just curious.

According to what they presented in Switzerland and their brochure - they do offer a few tuning programs for various engines.

P.S. Really scratching my head now since ACS are the only ones who officially released the dyno-graphs for the M50d tuning solution whilst they offer 4 hp less then Hamann and 8 hp less then Hartge (the one I still think I'm going for). I.e. from 381 hp and 740 nm:

ACS: 430 hp / 840 Nm
Hamann: 434 hp / 830 Nm
Hartge: 438 hp / 840 Nm

So, by those numbers, that dealer's ACS is around 500+hp if the engine was tuned by ACS. Thanks for the spec info.

Also googled this which states to be an independent/incognito comparison of ACS, Hartge and cheaper solutions (for the 328i though, but it's still a good read IMO). So I'm not sold on Hartge just yet, sent an e-mail to ACS with lots of questions - will see what their answer is; I still have 1300km to run till the break-in period is over

Thank you, Armen383 . That was one awesome read; it was quite thorough on breaking down all the 6 tested mods. I have never truly read so much about hp/torque break downs and how boosts/racing chips/engine tunes actually work. That was really enlightening to see how the AC Schnitzer won hands down due to being the cleanest setup - I had no idea it modified the engine so deeply with so many different sensors. The only negative was the extra air that the tuned engine pulled in, but that isn't anything too bad overall. The Hartge seems like it would only be useful at the higher revs/higher speeds, which renders it kind of useless since the whole point of modifying the engine is to produce a consistent hp/torque ratio that can be utilized from initial 0-60, mid-rev range, and high rolling speeds. Let us know what ACS says. I'm interested in hearing their feedback. I think I got even more excited about the Dinan tune for my 5.0i after this .

Will do, hope their e-mail skills are better than those of Hartge - the latter are really friendly/etc. on the phone, but getting answers from them via e-mail apart from the first introductory e-mail is a nightmare )) On the upside - they're always website open about their prices from day-1...

P.S. Can only envy the guys living in Germany who can take a quick road-trip on the autobahn to the actual home of ACS/Hamann/Hartge and get stuff done in no time on the spot.

Hey all! We recently built this truck for BMW Encinitas. It has the Aero Kit, Suspension, and Exhaust System - We just posted up a whole thread on it today. Click the picture for more information.....

So, got into the e-mails exchange with ACS. Oliver @ export sales definitely seems to be responsive and answers most of my questions in due course. Now, onto the important and interesting stuff - and for the avoidance of doubt I'll be talking purely about M50d afterwards, because that's what I'm interested in

1) While the tune itself costs a bit over EUR 3,000 it comes with 2 years warranty included and an option to buy a 3-rd year warranty pack - I am yet to find out how much that costs. The ACS tune itself is circa EUR 430 more than Hartge solution, but then again ACS is known to be the most expensive tuner.
2) I've received a very detailed installation instructions with pictures/etc. from ACS for the M50d and... well, let me put it this way - you do NOT want to be doing this yourself or with a shitty mechanic Now the general fitting time on most N57D30 engines is 12 to 16 units (1 unit = 5 minutes). For M50d (N57D30S1) the fitting time is around 42 units or in a nut-shell 3.5 hours!
3) I will run through the warranty documents and the installation instructions through our only official BMW dealer here to hear their story about BMW warranty and charges for the installation.
4) In the beginning of August this year ACS will be releasing a full range of products for the M50d - i.e. suspension lowering, exhaust, bodykit, alloy rims up to 23“, interior parts. I am VERY interested in what they can offer for the exhaust because let's be honest - as much as I love the M50d performance, the sound of this V6 3.0 diesel engine is just bland when compared to what Porsche did on their V8 4.4 diesel. However as it'll be a rear muffler only solution, I was told by ACS not to expect any miracles as it is really difficult at the BMW diesel section to get more sound from the engine / exhaust.

Nice write-up and thanks for the follow-up, buddy!
