2017 X5 question

Two parts to this:

1st: I’m just curious why mine has circle exhaust and others are square?
2nd: I’ve got 60k miles and something is wrong with my suspension like it bounces around, seems to drop from the RT and LT side during my commute, and keeping the backend of the car from walking into the next lane is a full time job.

Depends on configuration. M Sport models will have the more square like exhaust, and I believe all 50i models (M Sport or not) have a square-ish exhaust tip, although smaller than the M Sports. The 35i/35d models w/o M Sport have round exhaust tips.

Ditto above. It depends on what model or what option pkgs you have. You give no model info so we can probably assume you have the I6 engine and don't have the M-sport pkg.

Previous answers nailed your exhaust tip question. Regarding your question on suspension, do you have a third row of seats that folds down? Or is your X5 a 2 row?

The air bags may be perished after 60k miles which would explain the lack of control

Normally air bags give different signals…

This sounds like your shocks are completely blown or missing or both.

yup the 2nd issue definitely seems like the air suspension blown out if your car has the 3rd row seating option. its a common issue with that option

No to the third row seats, but does have factory rear heated seats and entertainment screens.

Have a hard time believing it’s the shocks and I don’t have an error message. Hell the car alerts me for the sunroof being open.

All the app says is it’s a: X5 xDrive35i, I have no idea what options it has other than the obvious stuff.

Message from the shocks? They don’t do that…

You have to look at them to see if fluid is leaking from them.

Well been a great car for the past couple years but sounds like it’s time for a new one. Thanks for the advice!

Shocks are not expensive. Possibly some ball joints also need replacing. Prolly couple $k with labor.

But if you wanna ditch it I get it. Color, options, location? I have a friend that’s looking
